Is paid PaintShop Pro rigged to expire after 2 years?

Finally figured this out. It turns out that something turned on/bumped up Windows 7 User Account Control to level 3 and then PSP 2018 no longer had permission to write to the user-created resource files. That is why running the PSP 2018 with Admin privileges worked. Since PSP created these files in the first place, I am not sure what happened. But broadening the permissions on these folders and reducing UAC to level 1 solved the problem.
