Using Win 10, HP Officejet 6700
I still use, and love, my PSP 12 on Win 10 . However, I ran into an unusual problem several days ago.
My HP OfficeJet 6700 had a problem with the latest Microsoft update and I had to reinstall it. Everything seems to be working well now except for my PSP. Every other program on the computer has no problem with printing except for my PSP. When I click on PRINT, the printer screen appears as in the past. This is where you can make several selections as to how many copies, etc. However, where a copy of the photo would previously appear, only a black box is shown!
Although I am aware that PSP 12 is an older program, it always printed properly with Win 10 and my HP printer.
It appears that perhaps PSP requires some special driver that none of the other programs needs.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Re: Can't connect Printer to PSP X2
Do you have the latest driver for your HP printer?
Otherwise, this forum is littered with posts about various hardware and/or software not responding properly after some Windows 10 update or other, and most of the issues are because of Windows 10 updates. So perhaps that might be part of the problem.

Re: Can't connect Printer to PSP X2
Some time between 11 and x4 the PSP UI changed from its original (derived from JASC) to the current (derived from Biddle). Which UI does PSPx2 use?
Had PS3, PSP3; Installed: PSP-4.12, 5.03, 6.02, 7.04 (liked it a lot & used it for years), 8.00, XI, x4.3.0.3, x6.2.0.20, x7.4.0.11, x8.3.0.13, x9.2.0.7; now using PSPx10 (PSP 2018; version 20.2.0.1 x64) on Win 10-64 b2004.

Thank you for your responses.
JoeB:
I have the latest HP driver loaded. I have also run the latest version of the HP Troubleshooters. All come back with positive results. HP also has a separate program to correct any problems which might have been caused by the latest Win 10 update.
ehume:
I don't know which UI PSPx2 uses. I assume it is of the JASC configuration. (That is why I didn't update to the newer versions).
In any case, I have been running my X2 version with Win 10 for some time without problem. It is only when I ran into some printer problems that this glitch occurred with my PSP. All other programs print properly.

Re: Can't connect Printer to PSP X2
Just tried to print from my PSP X2 even though the print screen still showed only a black box rather than displaying a copy of the picture to be printed. To my surprise it printed properly.
Upon browsing around, I discovered that a black image appears regardless of which operation I choose. Any time I select the PRINT function, no image appears, but only a totally black image appears in the print window. This also occurs when trying to preview a possible modification to the image.
It seems that something in the program itself is messed up.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

Re: Can't connect Printer to PSP X2
Are you saying that if you set your printer to Preview Before Printing that the preview screen also only shows a black image? Or are you talking about a different preview in like in PSP? I don't know how the HP printer interface works so don't really know where you would normally expect it to show the image that is presently showing as only black.

ThaJASC UI comes default light gray. The Biddle UI shows 3 or more tabs at the top. Try dragging the pic into the Print window.

JoeB:
With the picture showing on screen, I then click on the print icon. The print window now appears. However, the thumbnail of the picture that normally is displayed in the print window is totally black.
The same thing happens every time any other operation is chosen, where a thumbnail is normally displayed, eg: Brightness, Contrast, Picture Frame, Effects, etc.
