Hi,
Last week I engaged in an email exchange with a member of the Corel technical/customer support team on the future of AfterShot Pro. Specifically, I asked whether Corel plans to release ASP4 at some point, arguing that Corel should not allow ASP customers to wait for the next version of the software if it knows another version is not coming. The response I received from the Corel support person was this: "Yes, Corel is already planning to release the latest version of Aftershot 4. But as of now, there is no timeframe on when the update will publicize. But no worry will let you know as soon as possible."
You're of course free to interpret that reply as you choose, but in my view, it means there is some reason to believe ASP is not dead yet.

Well, I do hope so. In general, I prefer ASP3 workflow to anything else out there. Unfortunately, I cannot use it right now as it will not process my camera's raw output. Having contacted Corel to put in a plug for a camera update, I too was kind of led to believe a new version is coming down the path. I am keeping my fingers crossed. Hopefully, sooner than later.
