Digimarc? unable to invoke specified plugin?

One of the main problems with Adobe style plug-ins are the support files that most Adobe style plug-ins rquire to be present or they won't work. So I doubt that PI can make all of the plug-ins compatible. I found installing several versions of plugins caused PI to become erratic. Although I have PI 11 on AMD and the Digimarc works fine.

Here are PI's instruction for use of Digimarc:
Select Effect: Digimarc - Embed Watermark to include a digital watermark into your images before saving them. This allows you to imperceptibly embed data (such as copyright and owner information) and protect your images from unauthorized use. Register first and acquire a Digimarc ID before you try to embed digital watermarks into your images. (Click Personalize in the Embed Watermark dialog box, then click Register to apply for a Digimarc ID.)

The Digimarc v1.6.87 plug-in that shipped with PI will work. The Digimarc v2.0 plug-in on Digimarc website is been re-designed for Adobe products only. If you need a PI compatible version of Digimarc new plug-in, you might need to contact Digimarc for it.

If you already installed the Digimarc v2.0 plug-in with PI, you might need to reinstall PI to get the v1.6.87 plug-in back and work properly.

And the Digimarc v1.6.87 plug-in shipped with PI is not a trial plug-in, it just need you to register a Digimarc ID on Digimarc website.

For the problem Jonbouy has, it's because some other Photoshop plug-in you installed with PI has the same plug-in ID as the Digimarc one. Remove the Photoshop plug-in should bring the Digimarc plug-in back to work (at least it works in my PI).

Hope this helps.

Not that its really an issue as I'm unlikely to ever embed watermarks but the Digimarc Plug-in has never worked from a clean install of P11. I am aware of certain plugins requiring the 'Adobe' plugin.dll and various run-time libraries but that was not the issue.

The plug-in ID is not the issue either as whatever plugin follows the Digimarc one on the drop down menu is the one that gets run regardless of ID and even if there are no additional plugins it's still not having it.

The only thing that I can think of is it maybe to do with the fact that I upgraded from PI 6. Although I did follow the instructions to do a clean install. Still, I feel confident enough now due to the knowledge gained from this thread to commit the Embed watermark plugin to the bin. :D

The one plug-in I'd really like to install which seems to be in the 'incompatible' category is the nVidia '.dds' plugin which would save me a lot of heartache presently.

Ah well I guess ya can't have it all. :|

I too am having an issue with this and have been for a number of months.

Hi all, I am new to this forum so please excuse me if I babble on a bit!

Been a PI7 user for around 9 years until yesterday. Bought PIX3 thinking it would solve my problem. Guess what??? It didn't.

I'm pretty disappointed and frustrated as I have done searches, looked up Ulead and Corel without any success on finding a solution to this problem. I am a web graphics designer and purchased a subscription to Digimarc a few months ago and this is pretty much rendered useless now.

I would appreciate some help on this one if anyone's got the solution???

Thanks alot,
Dori  :!: :?:    PLEASE....
