PaintShopPro 202 upgrade--where is EXPORT WIZARD

Post by Veloputt »

Hello, I just upgraded from PSP2018 to the PSP2020 version, and trying to use it for editing photos that I then EXPORT > OPTIMIZE FOR JPEG.
Loved this feature in 2018 version, but there is NO EXPORT option on the pull down menu for FILE, where it was in 2018 version, and all info I can find says it should be there.
This wasn't something I plugged-in or did anything to add to 2018 version, so where is it in the latest 2020 upgrade version? The upgrade package is useless to me without this.

It is certainly there in both the Complete and Essentials workspaces. All I can think would be, first, to reset your PSP by holding down the Shift key when first opening PSP from the desktop icon. You will get a message asking if you want to reset. If you have customized anything, you might first want to save the workspace before resetting.

Other than that I can only suggest reinstalling.

I suspect the OP is in the Photography workspace. Go to File -> Workspaces -> Complete and you will find the Export function you are looking for.
PSPX9 | PSP2020 | PSP2021| PSP2022 | PSP2023 & PhotoMirage installed; PSPX | PSPX2 thru PSP2019 owned but not installed

Yes, you're right Kathy -- thanks! I keep forgetting the Photography unit even exists! You can also change it by right clicking almost anywhere on the PSP GUI and selecting Workspace > Complete...

Thanks Kathy, that was indeed the reason I didn't see Export function. Whew.

You can find buttons for the exports that you use. In Menu > View > Customize... > Commands > File > x Optimizer... buttons can be dragged to your toolbar. I have dragged the JPG and PNG optimizer buttons to my main toolbar. If you use these functions a lot, you can do it, too.
Had PS3, PSP3; Installed: PSP-4.12, 5.03, 6.02, 7.04 (liked it a lot & used it for years), 8.00, XI, x4.3.0.3, x6.2.0.20, x7.4.0.11, x8.3.0.13, x9.2.0.7; now using PSPx10 (PSP 2018; version 20.2.0.1 x64) on Win 10-64 b2004.
