Tools Issues in PSP 2019 Ultimate

Hey-

I'm relatively new to this version of the program, but I have used it in the past in other versions, and I've been using it a lot recently as I set up a new website.

The problem is: a few days ago, as far as I could tell, the various tools were working fine- erasers erased, clones cloned, brushes brushed, all in real time with no hiccups that I noticed. I could drag an eraser around the screen as fast as I could, and I would get a continuous stream of erasure.

Two days or so ago, I noticed that tool functionality was decreasing- things were getting weird and laggy. Erasing and brushing began to stutter, with long pauses before the tool cursor would begin to move after I moved the mouse. When I dragged a brush, even after the cursor caught up to my mouse movement, it took another few seconds for the paint from the brush to actually appear on the screen. A couple days ago, I could click on a spot that I wanted to clone, and it would immediately lay down the cloned area. Now, when I click to lay down the clone, it takes 5 or 10 seconds for it to happen, and even then, it doesn't cover the whole area, and I have to click several times to get the clone to cover completely, waiting 5-10 seconds between clicks.

The magic wand doesn't seem to work- I can click on an area of a unified color, and the wand will select a very small sliver of the total area, after the 7th or 8th click. Bucket fill has ceased to fill any area at all. When I use the selection tool, it never "takes;" it draws the rectangle, which then disappears when I release the mouse button; I can never close the loop on the freehand selection tool.

Something is broken here, and I have no idea what it is or how to fix it. I tried a reset procedure that I read about here on the forum, but that changed nothing. Does anyone know if this problem is common and/or known, and is there a cure?
Maybe a complete reinstall?

Reinstalling the program seems to have fixed the issue. Thanks to all who assisted.
