That white is usually an indication that VS cannot read the file for some reason. Usually, this is because it can't find the right codec. Now, some of the other player programs come with the Quicktime .mov codec already included, but VS does not. So have you manually installed the .mov codec?

If not, go to https://support.apple.com/kb/DL837?view ... cale=en_US and you'll see the Download button up at the top. When you go to install it, you will have a dialogue box like that in my attached image. Only install the Essentials part -- so make sure all the other entries have an X showing, as in the image.

Your codec is sony's XDCAM, I don't think VS can read that.

Did Sony provide any software with the camera, it maybe that software could provide the correct codec?
If you can upload to a sharing site, provide a link here and we can try on our systems.
I think software for XDCAM may be needed, I could be wrong.

I found this doing a google search not sure if its relevant or not?

Why do you think that sub$100 software should care for pro acquisition format?
who else in that range will read your XDCAM ?

WINDOWS movie maker is a fine software for XDCAM.mov. We are in year 2019 and we have trump,
so all is good.

Suggest that you transcode your XDCAM EX files to a video format with a compression supported by Corel VideoStudio 2019.

You live in a dream world if you believe that!

I don't think there is any video software that will accept every variation of video format/codec that is out there.

exually, its not sony cam, its jvc, however in may use sony xdcam coding... i dont think there is other solotion about this, unless video transcoding before editing in VS... But i am really not happy about it...
i will look for any suggestions about loading some codecs, and then i will see if VS can read theese kind of files...

thnx

of course it is... for example EDIUS from canopus... i really dont remember what kind of video files and coding is not supported by them... it reads everything...
I think sony vegas is also "there somewhere"...
