COREL VSP 9.5 - CONVERT .MOV to .mts CLIPS WHAT DOWNLOAD

Hi, Wanting a recommendation safe & free download (if possible) to convert .MOV to .mts to use in my production.
Opens & plays fine on the computer - view & audio.
In VSP Library is frame blacked out but plays fine.
When dragged to time line - long rectangular clip white on top/black on bottom - will play in window (but blacked out on timeline so can't edit) but not render to an open format in production.
" " " " " - if audio muted or decreased to anything less than 100 will not open & not play at all.

Needing to convert external to production - what program recommended. Most of my other footages MTS/mts/MOD/MP4 all acceptable to past video productions.
Looked up many but hesitant because of unknown sources. Free Download if available.
Any suggestions appreciated.

What version of VS 9.5 are you using, I believe the last service pack did not auto install but had to be downloaded

Some Mov video files require the quicktime codec to be installed this post refers

Free converters
There are many about and all seem to try installing other bits
Format Factory is one that forum users have installed, just deselect any options to install browser helps ect whilst installing.
Vertual Dub is another, Asik on the forum is your best man for that, afaik does not install just runs as stand alone.
But first try the QT codec

Thanks for your response.
In use VSP Ultimate 9.5 with Service Pack 4 - version 19.5.0.35. I currently have two grandchildren productions in progress & am reluctant to upgrade until these are completed from the system. Once done will move to most recent version gladly.
I know I'm out of date but had other system issues so not too excited about changing much other than get productions out of the system. I have read about your QT Link....
I only have 4/5 frames to convert to mts so would gladly use an external free downloader. Format Factory looks interesting - as a novice, which provider or site would be best for less virus etc. & note your deselect advice. Would be great to run as stand alone if able to do so.
Any advice appreciated from you or other forum users to which site best option for free downloader.

Just checked Format Factory and it does NOT appear to create MTS files but will convert to MP4 which is the nearest to Mov
From the program I found this link

I have just installed that over an older version which appears to have a screen capture option.
Deselect the Web Discover option, remove the tick

Now my AntiVirus program has detected a threat called FusionCore, not had that before and occurs each time I try to install Format Factory
I have to say that my anti virus (Mcafee) informed me that it has now updated the scans and more secure, so maybe did not detect these before, could be a false positive of course, the offending file was in the %temp% folder. (Fusion.dll)

The choice is yours as to install or not?

Making a production of grandchildren (have done for past 16 yrs of older kids) & mostly have all my own video footage but this time have 4/5 frames of my younger kids from their parents, which I wish to include...hence the issue !
Reason why I would prefer just to convert externally, because only few frames, from a free download & then import to production library.
Problem which one to use & from which link rather than just risk any provider & virus issues. Would be good to just run a one off stand alone if possible.
I will not give up.

Lata offered some advices which I have noted & will leave Format Factory alone.
Have not installed Quick Time codec yet as I'm uncertain what affect it may have with current productions & so few frames to sort only.

What is this "4/5 frames" you keep referring too? Are you talking about videos, photos or what?

Hi canuck….video footage that won't open correctly in VSP production - only few frames when imported - rest all ok - full details in initial post.
Wish to convert MOV to mts prior import to library but with what downloader & which provider.

You should install the QuickTime Codec as it may fix the mov display problem

Thank you to those who offered suggestions.
My perseverance has paid off & I have managed to convert the several video frames in my production from MOV to MTS successfully.
I used CONVERTIO - convertio,co/mov-mts/ as an external usage only & not downloaded - it allows conversion on small size files only (for free) so had to split a couple to make acceptable.
These have now been put in my VSP Library & into timeline & so far all appears to be working well.
Will be very happy once current productions completed so I can upgrade to the newer VSP version.
