3D Title editor VS2018 ultimate

I have just tried Pinnacle and the 3DTE is from all accounts identical.
Double clicking a 3D title from the library opens the editor with a 10 second clip, that does not happen using VS we have to drag to the timeline then double click the clip.
Opening 3DTE from the tool bar shows a title at 3 seconds for both versions

From my short tests Pinnacles 3DTE wins, using Video Studio 3DTE I get odd things happening although the completed text on the main timelines look ok.

And yes Weaver I do agree that things went downhill after X7.

As gewb my 3D title program works fine in VS 2018, but must admit I much prefer to work with VS2010 never taken to VS2018.

Not yet, as any new alternative is quite costly, and there is no guarranty from Corel that the replacement will help.

Ah, my bad eyes again. I now see you have an Nvidia - I though you had a Radeon. But the question remains: have you tried latest or older drivers to see if another works for you?

The VS2018 never worked correctly on my computer, once one function did not work next time some other. I have still 2-: tickets open at Corel. We spent ages to fix some problems earlier this year. That time it was also one of the question the drivers for different devices on the PC. ( As already mentioned the X7 on the same system was working for years without a single crash). So there was a recommendation to update all drivers and reinstall the VS2018. So in May or June I searched for all new drivers and installed them, so they are today up to date. After that the Corel engineer deleted the VS2018, cleaned the computer and installed the brand new VS2018 - it was already the 5th or 6th installation in 5 month. The installation was smooth, the basic functions of VS1018 work fine, but the special functions do not - including the audio editing when the clip is longer (something above 30-40 min). The same function on the same computer with X7 work fine. That is the recent status. All specs defined by Corel are fulfilled with lot of headroom, that is why I am hesitating about the replacement of the video card.

Agreed - no obvious need to replace the video card. Given the numerous problems described, there is more going on that "reinstall VS again" will not fix.

Nothing can justified replacing a GPU that's in good working order, and surly when there are dozens reports the SW don't use it at all.

New experience. It looks like that some function are randomly addressed by VS2018. Today the 3D title editor opens with text in the preview window. Last time the text appeared only when I changed the size of 3D editor window. (Full screen).
Today the text is not frozen in the preview window, ie. I can move it. The background picture is still missing. ( ie I cannot adjust the position to the background picture). The time is still wrong, ie everytime I open the 3 D editor it starts always with 1 hour. It also lost the last settings,,ie. When I want to change something on the existing 3D title, it always start from scratch. ( the pervious selections are all gone)
I contacted Corel, let see what they say.

Hi Trevor

thank you for the file. I have got today almost to the same stage with 3D editor. I can move the title, change thge attributes, but everytime I reopen the 3D editor it forgets the pervious movement and also the length of the title is set to 1 hour.
As you see I could change the texture, I had to create a new movement, but in the preview windows I see just the title not the background, ie I cannot create a special motion adjusted to the picture in the background.

That VSP opens ok and shows as 10 seconds
Your profile shows as using Windows 7, I don’t suppose 3DTE was designed using Windows 10
I assume you are using the same version although I do not see any details from the 3DTE panel
Program and Features does show the version as 1.0.3.81
As you have had Corel re-install then I would think you are using the right files

Have Corel given up on helping you?

Have you considered using a graphics editor Motion Studio 3D or the like?

I used many years ago the extremely slow Ulead program, I cannot remember exactly its name (something like cool or what) it was OK but extremely slow - a rendering took several hours. I still have some working graphics from that time.
After that I did my graphics in a TV studio of my friends on their professional system ( they also changed some programs in the running years). I do not use other video graphics. I have from Corel the Paint and Draw, I can make some static or simple motion graphics if required ( not very often), that is mostly enough.
The first level Corel support gave up, and forwarded the issue to Level 2. Basically I can do now some 3D graphics with the editor, but because the background is missing I cannot make a precision movement. We will see.
The biggest problem what I see, that the performance of VS2018 changes from unknown reasons. Once the audio editor does not work correctly, next time the 3D editor. On the recent film the longer clips 5-6 min had some filter setting - exactly adjusted, was fine. In some point I needed to split the clip, the filter on the second half lost its setting completely. Ie I had to copy the filter settings (all preferences) from the first half to the second one. Interestingly on the next similar clip the split worked without any problem. This is what makes me more headache - I never had such issues in the earlier version of VS ( on the same PC).

today the second level support spent 1 hour on my PC, the result is not better as before. The only recommendation is to remove the old VS X7 clean the computer and install from scratch the VS2018 (already probably the 6th time - except the X7 removal). I do not want to delete the X7, as one of the most stable editor from Corel, when there is no guarranty that the VS 2018 will work. I anyway need the installation files for X7Ultimate.)

Anyway I found an interresting thing playing with your example.
When I start your VSP I am getting the text in the 3 D Editor preview, can modify it and add a new one. Except the background everything is there.

When I start the 3D editor from scratch I do not see the title in the preview window, but can edit it. See the 3D_B.

It would be fine to know what is the difference between your VSP and my one?

I am having lots of problems with those vsp files, backgrounds showing at the wrong time to text out of position,
and duplicated text, only shows in 3DTE, ok on timelines

I have always used 2018 as that is your program
I tried 2019, surprisingly much better to say that it is the same 3dte program

I will test again tomorrow

have you installed the 2019 trial, if that fixes your issues, just maybe Corel could replace your 2018 for 2019
would be worth asking the question, thats if 2019 does improve things

Hi Trevor, thank you for your efforts. I never had the background in the 3D editor preview window.
