3D Title editor VS2018 ultimate
I planned to create some new 3D title in the VS2018. The editor failed completely. In the preview area there is no picture. Sometimes when I change the overall size ( full screen) the text appears in the preview windows but no motion, no changes are seen there and also no background. When I change something it happens in the video studio but I cannot control the effects at all.
Additionnally on the timeline the title length is much longer as it should be and only in 1/3rd is happening something, in the rest the title is frozen. When I shorten the title bar, the title will be shortened - does not move to the end.
Any idea what to check or change?

Re: 3D Title editor VS2018 ultimate
Hi
I am having other issues where the 3D Title words always show, but not back on the timeline
I see you have set the title duration to 1 hour
01:00:00:000
Try setting that to 10 seconds to see what happens
00:00:10:000
I’ll have a look at this later today
Just noticed, from the main timelines make sure the cursor is over a clip, that clip should then show in 3DTE
Your image does not show the main edit timeline layout

Re: 3D Title editor VS2018 ultimate
Hi Trevor
Thank you for your reply. Is there any preset for the time? Now when I reopen the 3D editor it always comes with 1 hour setting, even when I changed it before for 10 sec. The clip behind is definitively longer. As you see sometimes the text appears in the preview window, but I cannot move it and the play button does not start the sequence. On the VS timeline something happens - the text moves, but I have no control about it. I can see just the changing numbers in the xyz windows but the main screen is frozen and also no background.
It is also interesting, that on the green bar in VS the 3D editor does not change the text. It is always 3D Text.

I've found the 3D Title filter in VS2018 is close to unusable as it routinely crashes both when editing and whilst rendering.weaver wrote:I planned to create some new 3D title in the VS2018. The editor failed completely.
The following image shows a 7 second project that uses 3D Title and produces a VSP of 513MB in size! In short, the 3D Title filter in VS2018 is poorly implemented.

It is funny, what Corel sold us. The 3D esitor does nit work, the sound editor does not work ( not always but nobody knows when it works and when not). The spent already ages on my computer without any positive result.

Weaver, 3D Titles were novelties 30 years ago. Do you see them these days in any relevant TV channel/program?

Re: 3D Title editor VS2018 ultimate
Hi weaver
Your T3D program looks corrupt
The default length I see is always 3 seconds, that can be increased within 3TDE or dragging the clip on the main timelines.
I would uninstall 3DTE using Program and Features called Video Studio 3D Title Editor then re-install using the file VideoStudio_3D_Title_Editor.exe from your download installation files …………\64bit\Ultimate old\Setup\RunTime\ VideoStudio_3D_Title_Editor.exe
Otherwise it’s a re-install of the program, uninstalling 3DTE as well, maybe the cleanup tool would do that.
I compared the VideoStudio_3D_Title_Editor.exe file for 2018 with 2019, it does appear to have been updated.
I have now downloaded the 2018 installation file to see if I get a newer version, no same original version.
Ok I have re-installed 3DTE using 2018 files so should now be using the same version as you, I think, not sure I see any difference.
3DTE appears to be working although still seeing the rogue 3DText but only in the editor and not back on the timelines.
I'll have a play then maybe install the 2019 version to compare?

Re: 3D Title editor VS2018 ultimate
I just wanted to do some special effect, what I did many years ago with 3D coole or what was this program name. It was slow but the effect was OK.
If the 3D text does not work, i do not care too much ( anyway the VS2018 is a crap, this is the smallest problem what disturbs me.

Re: 3D Title editor VS2018 ultimate
Thank you Trevor. My VS2018 was reinstalled in the last 5 month at least 6-7 times ( also by Corel about 5 weeks ago). We cleaned everything what we could and also i upgraded all drivers. The 3DTE never worked correctly. I will try to reinstall once again, but frankly speaking I do not want to spend too much time with the crap VS2018. The X7 was working for years without a single crash, I do not know why I have to waste my time for the VS2018.lata wrote:Hi weaver

Re: 3D Title editor VS2018 ultimate
I just needed a lens correction from VS2018, because my 3rd party program was limited to 10 minutes and I use partially up to 6 wide angle cameras. Anyway I will go back to X7.

Re: 3D Title editor VS2018 ultimate
I can't seem to reproduce everones issue as my VS2018 3DT works well with only a few glitches (which are probably my lack of understanding). From the posts in this topic it appears to me that the users may not know where/how to make certain changes.
In the first post weaver was trying to make changes on the main VS editing screen but 3DT needs to be change in the 3DT program. Same thing in post #3 - the 3D text isn't controlled by VS, need to use the 3DT program.
Correct that the timeline text remains 3D Title. To change that placeholder label to match the text you insert would be almost impossible For example, if you have three (or more) text objects in one scene and some are animated, what should the timeline placard show?
As for crashes in tletter's project (post #4), I have no idea. I created an 8 second project with two 3DT scenes and it rendered just fine.
As to 3D text in older versions of VS, that was a lot simpler and easier to use. When the new version came out I was really bummed as I couldn't do what I used to until I relearned the 3DT program. Now am generally pleased with it but it has a steeper learning curve.

Re: 3D Title editor VS2018 ultimate
Not yet, as any new alternative is quite costly, and there is no guarranty from Corel that the replacement will help. (The VS X7 was working perfect for years without a single crash). The performance parameters of my computer are still above the written requirements published by Corel. So I am hesitating what to do....
About a month ago I updated all drivers in my computer, without any effect for the VS2018 ( has many other issues).
I updated also the PC description ( the video card is GF550Ti with 4GB RAM).
