Blu-Ray Plugin Help

Post by simon_roberts »

I recently purchased the 2019 Ultimate version of VideoStudio, this evening I purchased the Blu-Ray plugin, I had to get a link via Corel support as I didn't have the most up to date version of IE to make the payment online. Anyway, I purchased the plugin (they linked me to the X9 version). When I've downloaded it and tried to install it I get an error message stating:
"The installed version of the application could not be determined. The setup will now terminate"

The installer then closes.

Anyone else had this problem and overcome it? This newer version has to be the most frustrating version of VideoStudio I have ever used!

Thanks,
Simon

That error message normally indicates that the plugin is already installed, surprised that the link you received was for VSX9, the plugin is new for each version, have you previously had VSX9 installed, you need to contact support and ask for the link to the VS2019 blue-ray version

Simon
Are you still running Windows 7, as your other post the program does not support Digital Dolby
viewtopic.php?f=1&t=65634

I am unsure if we can burn Bluray discs without using Digital Dolby which would make the program useless with Windows 7.

By the way i have updated your profile to receive post notifications by default, if you do not wish this simply change the setting via the User Control Panel.

Thanks for the responses.

I've reluctantly upgraded to Windows 10, just to run this software.

No, I've never had VSX9 installed. I did question if it was the correct plugin, twice and the customer assistant assured me it was... I'm still awaiting a response from them.

Thanks,
Simon

I don't see how that is possible, the VSX9 Blu-ray plugin will look for VSX9 in which to install itself, the error message is probably VS2019 way of telling you that it can't find where to install, Trevor or Ken may be able to help you get some sense from Corel support

Hi Simon
First I have sent you an e-mail regarding the plugin

My only thought is if the plugin is the correct one then it may be the program version.
To explain, when the program was released it received several Service Packs updating the programs and version number.
Then Corel upgraded the program, any new purchases would get the new program no service packs required, these have different version numbers.

It is possible that the plugin works for the original + service packs and not the new full version.

Clear as mud and clutching at straws
My version is 22.3.0.436 the latest version without service packs.

Robert what version are you running?
