Simple (?) Newbie questions

Post by Lucky »

Hi All, nice Forum.
I'm using UVS7 (there is no free upgrade to 8 huh?) To make instructional repair video's for our motorcycle club, and I have 3 questions:

1) i'm using timeline, how can i move everything (video, voice over, music, etc) later down the time line so that I can add a whole new section in between, without having to re-align everything timewise? for example: i've done a section on removing carburators, and a section on diasembling them. I want to add a section (scene?) on inspecting them in between. I guess i'm asking how to cut & paste whole sections of the project.

2) when i switch to storyboard mode, it is blank, except for "Drag & drop video clip here" I only see my project intimeline mode. not a big deal, except I 'm guessing that is my answer to my first question...

3) can I combine projects? save completed scenes as projects and then add/remove them to a 'master' project as needed?

Thanks for your help!

Hi Lucky,

To answer all 3 questions in one, treat each as a complete clip and save "Create Video File". You can then input the clip into bigger projects and the audio will stay in-sync with that clip.

Audio will float in the timeline and not lock to a clip.

2: You should see the clip in the storyboard. Can you drag your clip and drop it into storyboard?

so I could save each scene i've created as a clip, and use the storyboard to arrange the project as needed.. I get it!.

I can drag & drop a clip to the storyboard, I just thought the storyboard was supposed to show a clip in progress as it 'looks so far'. I understand.

Thanks, --Lucky
