curving total image

Post by nopoint »

I have a jpg photo of a flat and straight model railroad track that fits an 8 1/2 x 11 paper horizontally. I want to curve the photo so I can print it and put the train on the paper for a winter village scene. I know I can create a curved moon shape and insert the photo into the circle but parts of the track gets cut off. Is there a way in PSP 2020 to simply pull the original image into a curve moon shape? Maybe by adding (editing) nodes? I tried adding nodes and pulling them but the distortion is a problem.

Try this (based on the image you posted):

-> Image / Canvas size
-> New dimensions: Width 1500, Height 1000
-> Placement: Center
-> Effects / Distorsion Effects:

I tried the distortion effects and it's close to what I need. I flipped the image (and for this posting cut the canvas size down) and added two nodes to the bottom left of the track as I wanted somewhat less curve. The fine line showing on the left ( it is quite faint in this image) is the line between the nodes. However the node moved but the track image did not. I don't use node (only heard of them). Why didn't the actual track image move to the new location when I moved the left node up a bit?

Try the Mesh Warp or the Warp Brush tools...

I tired the warp tools but they don't do the job. Do you think I should post a separate message about help with node not moving the image?

Yes. Maybe I have wrapping amounts much to large as it almost swirls things around. I'll do some research on how to use the warpy thing! and try it. Thanks for your help. When I get the finished product I'll post it here so you'll know your help was appreciated.
