2020 Selection marquee poor visibility

Let's say you do something dumb like I did. Create a selection, then get distracted. You go back to your project forgetting the pending selection and attempt to do something else, like use the Eraser or the Paint Brush.

They will not work while the selection operation is pending -- and since the selection marquee (the child in the window) is not very visible you may spend an inordinate amount of time trying to determine why either the erase or paint operation won't work. You may then end up posting the dumb question to this board seeking answers. Which is what I did several days ago.

Yes, the problem is that the selection marquee is not very visible in some circumstances. I created 3 images that illustrate this problem. As you will see, none of them reveals the marquee very well.

3840 x 2160 (4k)

1920 x 1200

1024 x 768

Perhaps if the images were in color the alternating black and white dashes would reveal themselves better. Perhaps if the marquees were in color (or thicker) they would reveal themselves better.

When you post here, you can upload an image to the forum. It will accept .jpg and .png files up to 950x800 pixels in size.
Just look toward the bottom of the post window. You will see an Upload Attachment feature. Use the Browse tool to select an image, and click on "Add the file." Place it inline, then put that wherever you want (I use shift-home, ctrl-X then navigate to the end of the line, press Enter then Paste).

Perhaps this should be posted to a separate thread but visibility of the rulers is very poor as well. Here's a screen capture of an example.
