I haven't discovered much I do like about PSP 2020 compared to PSP 2019. It seems to be a bit faster than PSP 2019, overall, but that's about it.

I don't like the fact that there is no File Format Association menu any more. It has been replaced by a notice that you have to set your preferences in Windows itself.
Many tubes are not visible any more in Windows Explorer. Never had that problem with previous versions. I personally use the Organizer, but most of my visitors and members don't like it. They use Explorer.

I have tested it on two systems and seem to come across the same problems.
I use a pen and tablet (Wacom) and PSP 2020 seems to lose the mouse cursor once in a while. Can last up to a few minutes at the time.
Shuts down when trying to save an image in Photoshop format (.psd).
Plugins sometimes need a bit of time to be visible in 32-bit version. No problems in 64-bit.
Too many colour palettes by now.
When loading workspace I saved from PSP 2019, my personal toolbar wasn't imported. I had to make a new one. I'm lost without. I really have to look for functions I normally am only one click away from.

I'm not the only one. It's been discussed in this topic: viewtopic.php?f=56&t=65836

I like Paintshop Pro in general. Never got on with Photoshop. Don't know why.

So what do I like about PSP 2020? That it's PSP, I suppose.

What I DO NOT like on PSP 2020:

Just made the update from 2019 to 2020 version. At the end of installation I was asked, if all user settings from the old version should be importet. I thought: Yeah! Finally, always annoying with PSP-updates that this had not been made.
What should I say? I started PSP 2020 and neither my scripts have been imported, nor the path settings for plugins.
Again a lot of manual work to get this fixed. Is this so difficult to develop?
My PerfectlyClearSE from PSP 2019 is still not working in PSP2020, though I have copied the PerfectlyClear folder from subfolders plugins\EN and DE from 2019 to 2020 version. It appears under effects -> plugins, but causes an error (not installed correctly) when started.

Frustrating! I stop now and take a ride on my bicycle to see something more pleasant.
I do not know if I want to get into this trouble again with the next PSP version. I expect all my plugins and scripts to be therre when updating.
I do support and software tests for a process supervision system in our company. Our customers would go crazy if making an update and their batch data, recipes etc. are not there automatically.

Regards, Joern

PsP 2020 seems the same as 2019 in most areas. Below are the faults I have experienced since installing recently, and for these reasons I am still using 2019:
1. For my workflow as a cartoonist, I move freely between PhotoShop and PsP, but PsP 2020 shuts down when trying to save an image in Photoshop format (.psd).
2. It also crashes when trying to open psd files. (Psp files were also a problem in the 2018 version which was solved by an update). This renders the PsP 2020 unusable for me.
3. The Pic-to-Painting plugin still does not work - it never worked for me in 2019 either. When I try to apply it to a photo it just spins for hours without any result - on both 32 and 64 bit. I have tried it a number of times without success. Have reinstalled the software, followed instructions from Corel support etc., but no success.

rmorum,

Pic-To-Painting will work properly with two changes described on page 8 and 9 of viewtopic.php?f=56&t=64218&start=105, the most important one being to replace tensorFlow folder which is ver 1.7 with version 1.5.

Levifiction analyzed and determined this as you will read. One of the replies from the above link have a two line change and later in the thread thread have tensorflow1.5 as a pictopainting zip file to d/l.

I have recently interacted with Aftershot 3 (part of my PSP Ultimate package), Affinity raw and Silkypix, a raw editor. Only AS3 had a
Straighten tool as part of its raw package. For the rest, Straighten has to wait until it hits an image editor like PSP. Makes me appreciate PSP's Straighten tool. So easy to use, and its pairing with the Perspective tool not only makes sense, it gives me creative ideas . . .
Had PS3, PSP3; Installed: PSP-4.12, 5.03, 6.02, 7.04 (liked it a lot & used it for years), 8.00, XI, x4.3.0.3, x6.2.0.20, x7.4.0.11, x8.3.0.13, x9.2.0.7; now using PSPx10 (PSP 2018; version 20.2.0.1 x64) on Win 10-64 b2004.

iraisok,
Thank you very much for your advice on the Pic-to Painting plugin - described on page 8 and 9 of viewtopic.php?f=56&t=64218&start=105, - it now works perfectly!
I have had all my issues fixed with the latest updates and am now very happy with PsP 2020.

There is nothing to like about PSP 2020. It is just a piece of bloated software cobbled together to try and squeeze a few more pennies out of existing customers. You are slowly destroying the program. Maybe you can also tell me how to get rid of the constant upgrade spam when I run my version of PSP 2019. Like many other customers who have commented, I do not want to pay money for a constantly degraded product. Fix the bugs then leave it alone, unless you have a feature that adds value. All you are doing in adding chaff to try and justify the upgrade price. You are going to lose customers with this mentality!

I haven't had any complaints about PSP 2020, other than Pic-to-Painting, which doesn't work for me in any version of Paint Shop Pro that I have. I've tried the suggestions mentioned above, but haven't had any success with them. I do enjoy the faster load times with 2020.

Not much. Slow to load and now the map function is no longer working or supported by Corel not worth the effort. Stay away.
