2020 intro video: "scripts from unauthenticated sources"

Post by fatfreek »

Just getting my feet wet on 2020.

From the edit screen, click on home icon (looks like a house) which displays different page.

Several images of video descriptions, I choose the first one, "Introducing PSP 2020". Click on "Watch Video" link.

Problem! New Page appears (probably a browser page). Something's wrong. Notice a small red X icon in upper right. Hover over that and a message appears. "This page is trying to load scripts ... unauthenticated sources."

While I stand to be corrected, I believe that is your Windows Defender (or other security software) warning you that a script is about to run on that page and Windows doesn't recognize the source of the provider. It could be because (a) that site (assuming it's a Corel site) does not have a Microsoft security certificate, (b) you have your security software set to warn you when a javascript is going to run on a web page you open, or (c) you simply have your internet security setting set to maximum, which will often cause a whole bunch of warnings.

Look at the URL in the address bar and see if your browser is displaying a URL that actually starts by going to a Corel site. Or first, when you mouse over the selection you want, look at your status bar and see what it shows as the URL that is connected to the link.
Regards,

Hi JoeB,

Here's that URL. https://ipp.corel.com/products/paintsho ... ew/en.html#

You're probably right about Defender but I don't feel comfortable right now changing any settings there. I suspect these 2020 videos are somewhere on Corel's site and directly from within there. I couldn't find them -- yet. I'm in no hurry.

Interestingly, while trying to navigate to Corel and 2020, the following ads appeared on the right side of my Google screen. I hope I can paste images on this forum. (oops -- my preview suggests I don't know how)

[/img]

However, both of those ads take me to 2019 offers.

Not a problem as I've got other things on my plate.

If you follow the link you provided, there are several option, with all text greyed out. Most links are not working. The one about the text tool is and the new photography workspace. The one about the tubes, shows a video using PSP 2018.
In fact, a video introduction to PSP 2020 is nowhere to be found on the internet, yet.
Not on their own site, not on YouTube, unless they are showing how to work with an illegal version.
Just too early days yet?

Thanks for sharing. The Photography workspace is Actually pretty good. It is what Essentials should have been.IMO they are wasting engineering resources continuing Essentials.

The new Refine aspect of Selections is excellent. Long overdue, IMO.
Had PS3, PSP3; Installed: PSP-4.12, 5.03, 6.02, 7.04 (liked it a lot & used it for years), 8.00, XI, x4.3.0.3, x6.2.0.20, x7.4.0.11, x8.3.0.13, x9.2.0.7; now using PSPx10 (PSP 2018; version 20.2.0.1 x64) on Win 10-64 b2004.
