Gaussian Blur with smooth edges

Post by Preben »

I want to blur a part of a photo, a part chosen with Freehand Selection, but with smoothing/feathering the edges between the blurred and the non-blurred part. I can do the blurring, but the edge is hard as rock. I am using PSP 2018.
Can someone help me?

They say that a picture is worth a 10000 words and of course follow up questions for further information.
Can you post a cropped screenshot of your result and also your settings for when you make the freehand selection.

I promote the Selection to a new layer, then use the Soften brush on the edges, then, when I am happy, merge visible.
