Hi guys. New here. I just bought photo impact 10. I have windows xp home edit. and was using windows picture and fax program to view all my pictures. I happen to like it, ie (windows picture and fax program) alot because its fast for viewing my photos, and I can keep the curser on an icon on the screen and the next picture pops up.
Since I installed pho imp 10, all my pictures on the computer seem to be assigned to it phot impact. Is there a setting during the install process so that my pictures do not get assigned automatically to it. I want (windows picture) program to open my pictures for viewing, but what to use photo impact 10 only on demand for editing.
Thanks for any help.
Also Sorry if I am posting in the wrong area.
how to keep pictures on computer from photoimpact

I use Windows XP Pro at home but think the procedure with Home edition will be the same.
Sorry if the wording isn't spot on as I am at work using a Windows NT4 system at the moment but the easiest way to do this is to right click the file, Select "Open with" and you will see a list of programs you have previously used to open this particular type of file. Do not choose from the list even if the program you want to use is in that list. Instead, at the bottom of the list there is an option choose program.
Now navigate to the program you wish to use. You will now see a small check box that reads always use this program to open files of this type and make sure you tick that box.
There are other more complex methods but this one is the easiest.
