Looking for some advice - have video from Canon EOS R shot with C Log and so wanted to use Canon Lut's to bring back the correct colours etc. however no matter which LUT I use (all .cube files) no changes appear on the preview screen. If I make changes for colour grading using sliders white balance etc. all reflect immediately so not sure what the issue is.
Using Videostudio Ultimate 2019.
Thanks,
CDR

Re: LUT's changes not showing on preview screens
Hi CDR
and welcome to the forums
I don’t seem to have a problem, although I don’t use Lut’s, the ones I have were for testing and those do update the preview straight away
It would be better to have an option to show in preview, then we could switch to using the Lut or not to compare the effect to original, I guess we can choose none.
Some I have are quite subtle and do not change much
One called Clayton 33.CUBE appears to be a greyscale effect, that certainly changes the preview.

Hi.
There are no problems with * .CUBE. Whether VLog or CineD, as the pictures show.

Re: LUT's changes not showing on preview screens
Thanks for the feedback but unfortunately does not work with C-Log see above - first is VStudio No LUT second VStudio high contrast LUT and 3rd Resolve with same Canon High Contrast LUT.
Seems I will have to use Resolve ahead...

Re: LUT's changes not showing on preview screens
Hi.
When Color Grading, Davinci Resolve is a top address. But VS should be able to do the simple corrections as well. This includes the use of LUTs (Format Cube). However, I also realized VS can not handle all * .cube formats. Are you using the original C-Log LUTs from Canon?
As sample. I have created NLE-related LUT folders. Filled with compatible cube look-up tables. These folders are linked in the associated NLE. It does not matter if it's Blackmagic, Edius or our Corel.

Thanks Hansi,
You make a valid point - this was not an official Canon LUT - but even with those some do work and some dont, not sure why.
