Slanting text on an object

Post by thephilster »

Hi there!

I realize I can turn, flip, reverse text, etc.

For this project, I'm trying to slant text on an image of a car. It should slant left so it looks like it's on the hood. It will also come in handy for objects, like a door (ie, door decal).

I know slanting can't be that difficult, but I just can't find it. :D

I have 2019, but still using 2018 until I get a fix from support. My menu bars aren't coming up (ie, the bar on the left where the text button, etc is). Thats another ball of wax. :p

Thanks!

Philster.

Hi,
use the Pick tool and set the Mode to Free.

Or you may also use the Warp Brush or the Mesh Warp Tool.

Hi,
For your toolbar problem, try this:
-> File
-> Preferences
-> Reset Preferences
-> check "Make all toolbars/palettes visible and on screen"
-> OK

Whoa. That is interesting. Good thing all those palettes can be closed.

Thanks! Wasn't under preferences,. but found it as "Workspace". I just did a workspace reset and the menus came up.

Is there a way to put the menu against the left side instead of floating?

Thanks again!

Hi again,

Only options I have on the pick tool are "Pick" and "Move"

I did add the warp brush to the Tool menu and messed with that. I think I can make that work. :)

Thanks again!

I'm running X9 too and I have the Free mode available but you need to switch to raster in the Toolbar Options to access the Free mode.

Edit: I never paid attention to it, but there is a dropdown menubox on the palette toolbar for the Pick tool. The dropdown box is labeled Mode. In there one finds the Free mode.
