Use a free program called "video to jpeg converter"

https://www.dvdvideosoft.com/products/d ... verter.htm

Set project properties to your output settings
Then add images to Video Studio timeline,

Right click timeline for Insert photo for timelapse strobe
Render to Same as project settings
as described earlier
Right click timeline for Insert photo for timelapse strobe
Then browse for your images
that opens the Timelapse Strobe panel
Set - Keep to 1 and frame duration to 1

Vdub is useless for mp4 files. Afterall, it was last updated in 2013!

Hi
If you use Video Studio, whatever option you choose you are basically adding all your images to the timeline and setting their duration to 1 frame.
You need to set the project settings to use the correct frame rate(25fps) and video frame size.
Do this now, before importing images.

Then you could right click the timelines for Insert Photo
The images on the timeline will be selected. If not Ctrl+A
Right click the selection for Change Photo Duration – set to 1 frame
Now render to your desired output.

Asiks suggests Capture – stop Motion which will also work but using Ulead Image Sequence files, I guess similar to nesting a VSP’s

asik1,
you are right, my statement is Nonsense.
I downloaded the old Vdub which does not recognize mp4 videos. Since I no longer need it, I never bothered to update.
I saw that your are using VDub2 and after downloading I agree that it works with mp4 videos.

Perhaps you should update your post above to point to the "new" version: Vdub2

Thanks canuck
I thought that I must be crazy since I downloaded Vdub from asik1's initial link and could not make it work.
I will try vdub2 although I have already created jpegs using Trevor's suggestion.
I'll see how they compare.
Trevor thanks for the info on adding jpegs as single frames although it took me a few seconds to work out that I have to select 'insert photo for time lapse/strobe (sorry my brain isn't as intuitive as it used to be when I was an analyst/programmer :( )

Added later.
I have worked a 29.975fps video clip using both Trevor's suggestion and Asik1's (Vdub version 2) and the output looks identical in visual appearance on my monitor.
Also, using Vdub 2, I had to output to AVI file as when I selected MP4 it gave an error (pcm_f32Ie codec not currenly supported in conrainer MP4) and so I would then have to rerender using VS if I want a smaller filesize which adds another step using that method.

Thanks again to both Trevor and Asik1.

John, VD2 is for striping the frames, you export

or just convert

Thanks asik1

I am now thinking that striping to jpegs and then reassembling on a VS timeline takes less time and that is what I will do.
BTW I also remove any sequences I don't want from the original video clip by marking the 'set selection start' and 'set selection end' (from the EDIT drop down menu) and then deleting before I do the striping.
Vdub2 is a nice video utility thanks for getting involved and recommending it.

Thanks for the screen shots of Vdub HOWEVER I cannot reproduce the window named "SELECT COMPRESSION' - I looked under all drop down menus and even looked for a Youtube video tutorial. When I select SAVE VIDEO it does NOT offer me what compression to use.

Trevor I also value your input however using your suggested method doesn't allow me to remove any unwanted sequences before striping to jpegs (well not that I can remember seeing). Thanks again for tutoring me how to add the jpegs with a length of 1 frame each.

I encountered another format today and that is one with 23.976 fps.

Hi Asik
I have taken a timelapse of a poppy flower some 500 images taken with a Canon 7D
Are we able to render those images to video.
Or do we have to extract images from a video file to render / convert to another video.
I have looked but cannot find any options to import images.

Hi
Thanks Asik
I had not expected to use Open Video File to access the Jpeg images.
Sequence was the way to go, I had expected to Shift click to select the images, but selecting any image used all to end of list, showing the number if images adjacent to the Sequence

Worked ok once I set the right options, just a learning curve.
