Share tab Start button ineffectual X10
Using hi-res captures from phone camera, moved to windows 7 drive, can't upload to youtube, or render in any format,
after clicking Start button, nothing happens
X10.0.0.137 64 ultimate
looked for installer on corel site, so could uninstall/reinstall and not seeing that download

Re: Share tab Start button ineffectual X10
Update your version to build X10.5.0.60, then try again, if problem persists, report again

Hi
As Robert says the latest version X10 is X10.5.0.60 for 64bit program
Doing Help – Check for updates should find the latest service packs
Otherwise go to :-
https://www.videostudiopro.com/en/suppo ... sion-tab=1
to download and install VideoStudio X10.5 Update

Thanks for the upgrade link
Upgrade applied and showing 10.5, but no luck with that Start (render) button
I may be dreaming, but I believe I had similar issue in previous version and there was a registry hack fix

Explain in detail what you want to do and what your are doing
What does "nothing happens" mean? Do you get any message?
Re: Share tab Start button ineffectual X10
Hi,
The video files are 1920*1080 17223 kbs, 29 fps from Android phone
Imagine the most default workflow, files are captured, files are edited, and once on the Share tab, the default output format is selected.
The Start (render) button is clicked
Result:
There are no error messages, and no "process initiated"-like messages
I have tried to select other output formats with the same results.
Does anyone know where the install files are online, as I would like to uninstall and reinstall, but cannot locate the installer package that was used.

Re: Share tab Start button ineffectual X10
Somewhere on your computer, you should have saved VideoStudio_Install.exe For VSX10
Launch that file, input your Serial key when requested and it will automatically download and install VSX10
You will need to uninstall your existing VSX10 first

Re: Share tab Start button ineffectual X10
So if I no longer have that installer, there is no recourse, thorough this forum or Corel support, please confirm

Re: Share tab Start button ineffectual X10
All versions of Video Studio since X9 use a Web Installer aka Stub
Think of it as a download Installation manager
The stub for X10 is 10,860Kb, a small file.
Like Robert my file is called VideoStudio_Install.exe
By default when first used will create a folder on your desktop called VideoStudio to hold the download files.
In addition to that you need to know the serial number, do you know the serial number for X10?
If you contact Corel Support they will ask for your serial number and possibility proof of purchase, they would then hopefully provide you with the installer file.
I see no reason why they would not do that.
post updated
Installing the service patch X10.5 would have been a big install and would have updated most things within the program
There is a folder that can be re-named used to reset the program
Go here to re-name the folder 20.0 to “20.0_Old”
C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\Ulead Systems\Corel VideoStudio Pro (x64)\20.0
Running the program will recreate that folder, takes a while to launch the program.
Try that before re-installing the program, although you need to pursue the X10 stub

Re: Share tab Start button ineffectual X10
I have uninstalled, applied registry cleanup and reinstalled with help from corel and this forum, thanks.
the problem persists
suspecting now there is corruption in the VSP file
are there solutions for that?
is there any logging in this app?

Re: Share tab Start button ineffectual X10
If the vsp is corrupt then there is no "correction" and you will have to redo the project.
Did the project ever work in its early stages?
What happens if you slowly build up your project and try rendering? Does it fail right away or what happens?
Are you adding any photos, effects, etc?
Is it possible to upload a short clip (direct from the phone) to a site such as googledrive or onedrive?

Re: Share tab Start button ineffectual X10
Hi
Unfortunately no we do not have any tools to scan the vsp file for errors
We can open the VSP using NotePad but just read a load of gobblygook
The best we can do is view the timeline to locate a corrupt file.
If the VSP is corrupt regardless of the timeline content it is unusual that we can fix that.
I assume if you create a new project that Share – Start works ok and the problem is with the one project.
Very odd as I cannot recall anyone else having this problem.
I assume that if you play the project from the main timelines that it plays throughout without problems.
Ok
Clutching at straws here I am afraid…………
Your project, If you have used a process called nesting, that is adding another vsp to the timeline, assume that vsp has lost its clips then it may make it difficult for the program.
Normally we would see a re-link request for those clips, except they are wrapped within another VSP, if that makes sense.
Can you check the content of your timelines
Go to F6 preferences – General – Clip Display mode to File Name only
Viewing the timelines will display the names of the clips, are there any using VSP as its extension.
If you do find any, right click the clip for Locate on Computer
Close your project and try to open the VSP.

Re: Share tab Start button ineffectual X10
Thanks to all for what ideas were offered as a solution
Started from scratch to reconstruct the vsp file, but used a couple of aids.
First launched a 2nd instance on another machine and loaded the vsp there.
Then was able to see that the names of the video clips were still in order and correct, and best of all, most of the edit info e.g start and end of clip were also available.
Was quicker than i had feared, maybe an hour to build a 2nd vsp on the other instance of VS.
Not sure how many here share their success stories, but if you are interested what can be seen during a couple of weeks in Kenya, and are into wildlife....
