I need to make an instructional video that visually demonstrates the multi tasks involved in the making of an old Sussex (UK) craft. Is it possible to create a project in VS with video footage for visual instruction that has pauses after each segment to allow the viewer to read the following (or previous) complimentary text tutorial? It is important that the length of pause is entirely determined by the reader to accommodate various reading speeds. This would of course require a 'CONTINUE' tab after said text is read. The video would probably require 25 -30 imbedded Pause/Continue. I am aware that this is all possible in Microsoft Powerpoint but I want the presentation to be far superior to that software.
Thankyou in anticipation.

Re: Multi pause Instructional video
VS is a video editor, you are looking for a player feature.
Any video files player can do so.

Perhaps I was a bit wordy - More succinctly, is it possible to insert Pause and Play?

You can do it with VS only for DVDs and BR. Each video segment can be separated and the player will stop at the end of the sequence. With the > button you can jump to the next one.

Re: Multi pause Instructional video
I am aiming at a training video on DVD, this is not for public media like youtube etc. I intend to train one person and on completion of a 'crash-course' the DVD is used purely for reference as there are too many aspects/procedures to rely entirely on the trainee's memory. I will video myself carrying out the various stages of production and at the end of each stage I want a 'Pause' with a screen filled with text. After the text is read, then one can 'click' to play the next procedure. I repeat, is the 'Pause' and 'Play' facility within VS software?

Re: Multi pause Instructional video
If it's a "one of" project , why go for SD DVD?
Simply do a playlist.
End each segment with a 10 sec caption of your text, headed by "pause and read this....." than at the bottom "press next"
than make a VLC m3u playlist , put them both on your media with the video files and go ahead with HD quality.

Re: Multi pause Instructional video
Hi Screwball
The is no Pause and Play facility within Video Studio, pause can be achieved as mentioned using the Media Player
I agree with Asik, you should create a video project using your recordings with text separating each video clip.
You can play the video with any media player simply pausing the play after each section.
Seems the easiest way to go……………
