Layers Palette problem in PSP2018

Post by serloren »

Okay, a handful of months ago I reworked a laptop, and reinstalled both my PSP X5 (32-bit), and PSP2018 (32&64-bit).

As always happens when (re)loading any machine, some stuff gets hosed, and you don’t run into it immediately. In this case, what happened is this: I either missed a step somewhere, or something, and now when I open 2018 (which I use the majority of the time), I instead get a layers window that looks like Figure:2, where the graphic is in one window, and the layers functioning in a separate one.

I have always had my settings in PSP in such a way that when I mouse over the tools I have set on the right of my workspace, and bring up my layers, it looks like it does in Figure:1 in the picture. I have always had it so, and I am used to it that way, and I had it that way in all my operating versions (X5, and both 2018’s), and I need to get it back as it was.

This just plain BLOWS CHUNKS for me and my uses, but for the life of me, I cannot seem to find my way to and through whatever steps I need to make it appear as it did before (and still does in my X5) ala Figure:1.

I would be greatly appreciative of any assistance that anyone can offer me, in “fixing” this snag in my system; and I don’t mind the fact that this whole thing will probably make me look like a total stooge (old age takes its toll on the grey).

Thanks for anything you can offer!!
