Thank-you ULEAD!!!

I hope this also means the beta testers can talk a bit more about what they have learned?

Warning to the broadband challenged: The download is very large - approximately 235mb.

It does. But we're also still pretty busy testing too! ;)

Will it be possible to run this beta without uninstalling or interfering with MSP 7 on the same hard drive?

Several of us have had both running together. I've found it to be quite well behaved. It also un-installs well, though you might also want to remove any MSP8 folders in Documents and Settings.

Personally I'd Ghost the partition first, but then I'm picky about such things. That or run it on a dualboot.

For the record:

Ulead has released the betas to discuss any of MSPro 8's features, but we cannot discuss the schedule etc., though anyone who took basic math should be able to figure that out from the press release

Talking about basic maths, average upgrade price for Ulead products is ~50% of full price, so here's hoping!

Hello Terry,

Will VideoPaint upgraded in MSP8 ?
With version 7, I don't work with it because an input file PAL 720-576 16:9 can't be displayed with the good ratio (only 4:3).

Best regards

About VideoPaint, following the previous post, Oaseris has just given a solution, see http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewtopic.php?t=5445
This is on my mind a temporary solution, I hope VideoPaint will be improved in version UMSP8.

We still cannot discuss which modules will or won't be included in the Release version.

Can't discuss the schedule, however if anyone reads the entire press release it states:
Pricing and Availability

The free preview beta version is available for download immediately from the Ulead Website.

The box and electronic download versions of MediaStudio Pro 8 will be available in October for $399.99 through retail channels and Ulead Websites. Upgrade versions will be available for current MediaStudio Pro and VideoStudio users from Ulead Websites.
So I would guess the upgrade will be available in October for something less then $399...:)

MSP 8.0 preview - does it exist?

Post by betwixt1 »

I've tried twice to register for the link to download the preview, once when it was first announced and again 24 hours later but I haven't received anything back. Is there a restriction on who can see it, by region perhaps? I'm in the UK and been a registered user since MSP 2.5 and all version since.

Hi

I'm one of the beta testers for my sins, another guy had problems in the UK so I tried it out, email back in about 30 seconds, trouble free download & install.

Out of curiosity, which ISP, as mentioned in other places, is a SPAM filter at work?

VOB convert?

Post by USATraveler2 »

Would the finished version likely include a mechanism to import and convert VOB from DVD's, the way VS9 does? I use a computer that's not quite powerful enough to capture reliably, so I capture home videos by recording to DVD, then have imported using VS9. I like that feature!

Well, since the current Public Beta Preview Release has the DVD Import feature within the VideoCapture module...

OOPS! Missed that. Looked for it in the editor module for some reason. Not familiar enough with MediaStudio yet. Thanks for the tip, now I'll go fall into a hole or something after that stupid question
