Although I haven't upgraded from PSPx8 I have been using a Wacom tablet with PSP for years. No issues at all.

It seems non-Wacom graphic tablets may encounter compatibility problems with PSP. Some functions not recognized.
I'm using a little Wacom tablet with PSP since years. But I have general use of it (retouching) and not heavy drawing.

With 2018 PSP has supposedly improved its compatibility with tablets and stylus support including the two most popular interfaces WinTab (Wacom) and Real-Time Stylus (Windows 10). Haven't tried it, but if the tablet claims to support RTS then supposedly so should PSP 2018 or later.
