Do you have two or more accounts on your Computer ?
You may have installed PSP with an account and running it with another account. (don"t know if possible).
Folders may have different permissions and working on files may perhaps produce unexpected results.

As hartpaul and others have mentioned, I would reset prior to uninstalling and reinstalling. A reset fixes a multitude of issues. Here are instructions and note that although the knowledge base article mentions X6, this method works for all versions of PSP.

PSPX9 | PSP2020 | PSP2021| PSP2022 | PSP2023 & PhotoMirage installed; PSPX | PSPX2 thru PSP2019 owned but not installed

thanks ehume, I contacted cleverbridge and they gave me link that would work to reinstall. so after all the software is reinstalled you are saying just make a duplicate copy of it that way if the one I am using gets corrupt in the future I have a backup. makes sense.

Actually, I am telling you to save the installation software so that when you must reinstall, the installer will not only repopulate the folders but re-do the Registry items. Recently my machine acted up and I no longer had my Manage or Adjust tabs. I had completely forgotten about Preferences since I haven't been there in years. So I uninstalled PSP 2018, restarted my system, went to the installation software and used that to reinstall PSP 2018. (Of course, that did not solve my problem but Ken Berry reminded me of Preferences; must have had a power surge because my on daughter's system the Ethernet was turned off as well as having an inexplicable glitch on my machine.) The Key point: I had saved the installation files.
Had PS3, PSP3; Installed: PSP-4.12, 5.03, 6.02, 7.04 (liked it a lot & used it for years), 8.00, XI, x4.3.0.3, x6.2.0.20, x7.4.0.11, x8.3.0.13, x9.2.0.7; now using PSPx10 (PSP 2018; version 20.2.0.1 x64) on Win 10-64 b2004.

And just to confirm :
These are the files that you should have been able to download from your order advice:
1.OrderFiles.jpg
PSP2018_Ult.exe is a small installer file which does all the downloading of the main files and installation.

These are some of the extra files that can also be downloaded
02addedfiles.jpg
psp2018_ult.zip 400 620 KB
folder psp2018_ult
are two files that were downloaded used during the install . They can also be used to transfer to another computer and for installation.
The extra files are ones I have created pdf of the order details, and the serial numbers. As well an update which was mentioned on this forum and later available from Corel.

When you open the folder psp2018_ult you see
03downloadedinstallation.jpg
and the Setup file can be used to install from that folder on a separate computer.

Note you cannot copy installed programs from
Progtam Files
or
Program Files (86)
and have a working installation as nothing is recorded in the registry through the PSP 2018 program files.
Systems available Win7, Win 8.1,Win 10 Version 1607 Build 14393.2007 & version 20H2 Build 19042.867

He should save them all. These days I have to reinstall Perfectly Clear on a regular Basis, for example. I just keep them all: space on my HD is cheap.
