Glad you managed to fix this issue
Not sure what the last image showing the text editor has to do with it
I did download both files, unzipped and was able to open using 2019 with no issues.
Sorry for not clearly to point my problem.
Actually the split problem already solved,
the scond problem is cannot edit text with border/shaddow/transparency tab (error msg )

Hi Guys
Thanks for the additional info, I had seen NostalgiaNerd earlier reply regarding Ripple Editing, thanks for that.
Until today I was not able to replicate the error, now I can, eurika…..

The scissors have to be applied to the clip section adjacent to the transition.

So if I make one cut, then apply Ripple editing, cut the first section, no error, cut the section adjacent to transition, error every time as "encountered an improper argument"

I was simply cutting in the wrong place.

As i can replicate ... I have reported this to Corel as a bug, it may be best if you also contact Corel Support so they are aware that more than one is experiencing this issue.

Thanks Yusman for the last undo issue, Have also reported to Corel

This is how I see it…

Video Studio 2019 reverses clip positions

1 / add two video files to top track, I used SP-V01 and SP-V03, Jpeg images can be used
2 / apply any transition
3 / Using Scissors cut the first clip into two.
4 / Press undo
Result –
cut is removed
clips reverse order on timeline
Transition sits on end of second clip.

If instead you split the second clip, Undo becomes useless. You won't be able to undo the last edit or any earlier edits.

Hi
I do not have any problems when cutting the second clip, undo works as normal?

Well, today Undo works for me too. I must have triggered the problem yesterday by pressing some key combination, maybe, while trying to press CTRL-Z.

Hi Kingston
Thanks for the update, saves me bashing buttons again.
The original problem where the two clips reverse order was noticed during beta testing after the addition of gap editing, but fixed by Corel.
Seems the service packs may have undone something?

That's the problem for me. I cannot believe that this bug exists. Ripple editing is absolutely needed.

Thanks guys. I worked for an hour trying to resolve, "encountered an improper argument." Finally decided to go User Board and entered "encountered an improper argument" in search, and lo and behold you have the solution - and hopefully the bug will solved soon. I am new to CVS 2020 and the Forum has been great. Steve
