Matching video clips from two sources

Post by jparnold »

I have recently purchased a 4K action camera which I use in conjunction with my HD camera mainly to get super wide angle shots as well as using it on a 'selfie stick' to get those almost aerial shots (and selfies :D )
Comparing the recorded video from both cameras they look slightly different eg colors, hue etc etc.
Is there a way to 'analyse' all the various 'components' from a clip taken from one camera and compare to a clip taken from the other camera (using same situation eg time of day, position of sun etc) to work out a 'mask' to apply to video from the other camera so that there is less difference? Hope I have explained what I mean.
Thanks
John

The following might work if you have VS 2019, since LUTs are involved. Search on the internet for something like "how to create a LUT from an image." You would supply an image from source A to create a LUT, then apply the LUT in VS 2019 to source B. In the LUT program I use, Briz Creative Look from brizsoft.com, you supply an image from both sources to create a LUT. Or supply some other LUT to both source A and source B to give them both the same look. There is also a program they have named "Briz Camera Calibrator" that might be better suited to your needs. They have trial software.

Thanks for the information.
I don't have VS2019 so will have a look at the Briz Camera Calibrator.
