2019Pro keeps crashing if I click on a transition I've put on the video track to adjust its length.
Ditto on this. I just went from X9 to 2019. 2019 simply closes with no explanation. I will usually try again 1-2 more times, eventually it's successful. NEVER, EVER did X9 close or crash.

I accidentally placed a chapter mark on and could not remove it. The computer locked up. This would be a good program if they just removed the bugs for 2020. I completed the project in Power Director without issue. VS has a better work flow than PD, but only when it works, else a constant save is required.

4. Unable to put Fade to Black (or any other) transition at the end of a project. Get message 'The video clips are too short to apply transition effect. Unable to load library.' Clips are over twenty seconds
I know this is an older post, but just in case someone else is having the same problem adding a Fade to Black or other transition to the end of their video;

Try adding a black background segment to the end of your video first, maybe 3 to 5 seconds in length. Then add your transition between the end of your video and the black background. If you're using a 3 second transition it will affect the last 1 1/2 seconds of your video clip and the first 1 1/2 seconds of the black background clip. To work properly the transition has to affect a bit of both clips.

so not really too short.
I assume your clips are on the top video track
Are you sure there is not a separate clip maybe 1 frame long, this can occur if you have used Freeze Frame on the last frame of a video file and difficult to see
Switching to Storyboard View will display the top track as thumbnail, each showing their duration.
