So many issues with Video Studio 2019

Hello.

I'm using Video Studio Ultimate 2019. I've used Video Studio for years, mainly for my Youtube channel https://www.youtube.com/nostalgianerd.

However the latest version is so riddled with bugs, I'm considering either switching platform, or just regressing to an earlier release until they're resolved. Since release, some issues seem to have been fixed, but many remain;

1) Tracking, pixelation doesn't save
2) When an audio clip is in the timeline, you can't type the next minute of a clip into the clip time indicator, if it's the last minute in a clip
3) When you try and bring up the transitions menu on a new clip, the timeline jumps to the end of the clip. Meaning you have to scroll back to the place where you want the transition.
4) If you try and insert clip at the start with ripple editing enabled, doesn't shift all tracks
5) Cutting timeline when ripple editing enabled, causes "improper argument" error.
6) When you try and place a clip from the video track into an overlay track, it jumps right back to the start of the timeline, rather than where you place it.
7) Long pauses when trying to navigate through .mov clips
Frequent crashes when cutting & adjusting clips
9) Generally slow performance compared to previous version
10) Video track images are often distorted whilst using the "Customise Motion" window
11) When using .MTS files, segments of video where there isn't much movement, will often corrupt. This looks like an issue with buffering/compression, like it's trying to jump to other parts of the video.

Is anyone else having these issues?

Are any of them due to be fixed in a future update?

I've experienced issues with most updates, but usually they're corrected in updates pretty fast. These ones seem to be lingering around for quite a while, and it's really hampering my video editing

I also regret that I switched to VS2018, Corel is working on the problems since January, without any positive results. In comparison with the extremely stable VS X7 the new versions are very badly designed. I stopped to upgrade for the newer versions.

When I move a clip from the video track to the overlay track it stays put. Crashes occur at inopportune times more than I would like but, so far it's functioning in an acceptable manner.

I also can't recommend VS2019, as Weaver, I stick to the older ones, I use X9 up to SP2, not beyond.
Unfortunately VS "lost it" in recent years and went from fun while editing to a "struggle" while editing.
There are many NLE's out there, non are perfect but at least there are that let you edit in peace with good tools and less bells. I started migrating few weeks ago, and got new set of annoyances over there as well...

Yes. Struggle is definitely a word I'd use to describe it.

X4 to X9 all seemed reasonable, although each release tended to vary wildly in speed, but I agree, anything past that seems to be problematic.

It's a shame, because I really like some of the new features and effects, but it's just not practical to spend so long trying to make up for issues with the program.

My own greatest problem with VS 2019 (and 2018) is that it refuses to see that my computer is H.265 capable. Yet Cyberlink Power Director, (Vegas) Movie Studio Ultimate and others have no difficulty doing so.

I have to agree. I also rely o VideoStudio for my video perfomances on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eQ1mJwKd_e8
I had to stick with VS Ultimate 2018 which is much more stable to me and was able to install my extra Newblue Fx Plugins. You should try VS Ultimate 2018 which I think is most similar in features comparing to the 2019 version. Happy Editing.

One pf the reasons why I am very reluctant to fork out money to upgrade.
I like to wait for months to learn of possible bugs and if they have been resolved.
Doesn't Corel get people to BETA test new versions anymore?

Indeed, the problem with the future is that it's future, we need present working versions

On top of that they are unable to fix the problems with the earlier version ( in my case they spent already several hours remotelly and the performace of the VS2018 is still very unstable).
On the VS X7 ai never called Corel for help (over 3 years). This is the difference.
Meanwhile they came out with VS2019 what is even worse from many points of view and and basic funcionalites were changed in wrong direction. If this is the way Corel wants to go, we can wish them all the best or good luck and turn to the other solutions on the market. It is a pitty also for this wonderful community.

I am new at Visual Studio and I have all the best video editors, but I had so many problems with CVS Ultimate 2019, always crashing and freezing that I asked for my 30 day money back guarantee.

It depends on your video card. I assume the Microsoft HEVC video extension is installed. It works with my Geforce GT 1030 but, not with my GTX 970M.

Mine is the Intel Iris Plus 650 graphics. And yes the MS HEVC extension is installed. As I say, that card happily plays and produces HEVC in other NLEs -- just not with Video Studio.
