NewBlue Titler Pro 5 watermark
Hi
I am referring to the free NBTP5 pack provided when installing Video Studio not additional purchased packs.
I believe this version was provided with VS 2019, installing NBTP5 also shows available using 2018, X10 and X9.
All versions except 2018 show a water mark, a “crosshair + FX”
Having allowed Video Studio 2019 to update to SP 3 Version 22.3.0.433 hoping for a fix, the water mark issue remains
I have now re-installed the program, now running version 22.3.0.436, I do not believe this version is any different to 22.3.0.433 although I have no idea why the discrepancy in version numbers.
Anyway I have a water mark when using NewBlue Titler Pro5
The water mark may be a little faint on some backgrounds so I added to a yellow clip.

Hi Trevor,
I do not get the cross hairs, but neither do I get the FX symbol displaying on the preview screen

Hello Trevor -
No mark on mine either. Have you tried to reregister with NewBlue? IIRC, that watermark did show up when I installed to a clean version of Windows. It went away after registering.

Hi Trevor,
I agree with Gewb. You should try to register with NewBlue to see if the issue is solved. On my VS Ultimate 2018 the Titler Pro5 is running ok.

Re: NewBlue Titler Pro 5 watermark
Hi guys
Thanks for the replies
I do not have a problem using VS 2018
Although I have not purchased and additional NewBlue packs I have registered with NewBlue many years ago
Also accessed my account to make sure it was still functioning, ran activation from NBTP5 program etc.
I did find the stand alone version on my pc and able to run without the watermarks, save the project to open using Video Studio then shows the marks
C:\Program Files\NewBlueFX\Titler\TitlerStandalone.exe
So it does appear to be a Corel program issue with X9, X10 and 2019, 2018 is ok, hmmm
I have been going through a program and library resets, but so far no change.
I do not intend to re-install X9 and X10 but did reinstalled 2019 yesterday
I posted here to see how many hits I would get but clearly it does appear to be an issue with my setup

Re: NewBlue Titler Pro 5 watermark
Hello Trevor -
Explaining could get complicated especially since I don't know all of the parameters Corel and NewBlue used to make the versions of VS an NB.
That said, I looked into the registry for both and found quite a mishmash. As an example, NB appears to rewrite the licensing during each module installation and each VS version installation, each time you reinstall them. This information looks to be appended into a single registration file for everything NB related.
The installations, registration and data versions are not separated very well thus leading to potential problems. It also appears that installing newer versions of VS/NB probably "updates" your previous versions in older VS. The registration file also keeps track of the number of installations but I don't know the magic max number.
Any way I look at it, it looks like a mess. I still recommend trying to register from within the VS program > NewBlue TitlerPro 5 > Help > Manage Activation.
Best of luck.

Re: NewBlue Titler Pro 5 watermark
Thanks Gary
First I have already applied that Activation many times.
now using 2019 I have lost the watermark, still showing on X10 and X9, no idea what I did to fix that.
I now have another issue of silent closures
I tried adding NBTP5 to a png on the overlay track, I used the graphics library OB-13.png add NBTP5 and the program simply closes without warning. ( as does X10)
As for the registry, we are aware that installing NBTP5 to 2019 also added NBTP5 to earlier versions of VS
But did not remove the basic NBTitler which for some versions is still there along with the Pro5 version, so we have two.
This was the same for 2019 during testing, then Corel fixed that by only installing NBTP5 to 2019
So yep the registry may be a little confusing.

Hi Trevor -
Well, I tried if even just an idea. I feel for you, mate. VS2019 seems to be a problem child which is why I keep it locked up on my test laptop and will not allow it on my to production level boxes. Sigh.

Re: NewBlue Titler Pro 5 watermark
I don't normally use the new blue filters, but this one caught my attention, so I tried it out . . .
I've opened newblue titler pro5 in vs2018 and 2019, several times, and frankly gotten the same result each time:
- select the titler item from the Fx menu, and it takes several clicks to get the filter image in the preview window - a balloon with an enter text message: no watermark. The slow appearance of the filter thumbnail was an issue in itself. But once it was in the preview window:
- cannot get any customise panel until the filter is on a text track so . . .
- enter some text in the text track, and drag the titler pro5 filter icon onto it: the thumbnail shows the filter present fx symbol, and immediately VS crashes: get the windows messages 'vs has stopped working" followed soon after by the message to search for cause and close the app. once those windows messages appear screen capture of the whole desktop just doesn't work - all I get is the windows message box.
FWIW

Re: NewBlue Titler Pro 5 watermark
I agree with you David, that the New Blue Titler Pro 5 takes a very long time to become active, for me, about 30 seconds, then I can drag the filter onto the clip in the timeline, then select options and select Customize Filter, create text, close and save, text now shows in the timeline, no crashes.

Re: NewBlue Titler Pro 5 watermark
Thanks guys
Yes it does take a while for NewBlue Titler to become active, never been fast, it has been like that for ages, the older version was no better.
So far 2019 is now working ok, i mean no watermark but i am still having issues elsewhere.
Can you try this,
adding NBTP5 to a png on the overlay track, I used the graphics library OB-13.png add NBTP5 and the program simply closes without warning. ( as does X10)

Re: NewBlue Titler Pro 5 watermark
Confirmed in Vs2019 and X10. Not so much as close without warning, but I got the same windows message box(s) as I previously noted, which is a warning of sorts. The program was still closed.
BUT for something different (this did not happen when I was experimenting with 2018 or 2019),
in X10 when selecting the slow as a dogs breakfast filter I got a new blue login panel, as this but when I closed that panel without attempting anything, and dragged the filter to the object in the overlay track, crash, as before.

Re: NewBlue Titler Pro 5 watermark
Using VSX10, New Blue Titler Pro 5 has the watermark, also "Corel Video Studio has stopped working message"
