jerky pictures

Post by hotham26 »

Hi there - neewbie here. Just tried to make my first DVD, but the resulting DVD has really jerky pictures when there is movement on the screen (there is quite a lot of movement in the video, so it is really jerky!).

I exported a QT movie from Avid DV Xpress Pro (upper field first as am working in PAL), and then imported this to MF4. I set the mpeg settings to 7000 kbps and to the Best Quality setting.

Is there something in MF4 which is causing this to happen, or is it my original QT movie? If I use the Discreet Cleaner to encode the QT movie into another format, it seems fine, so it suggests to me it is a setting within MF4.

Any help would be greatly appreciated ! Many thanks...

Try changing the field order, I found that the "auto detect" got it wrong and I was better off using the other setting.

Hi - thanks for the post. I cant find any setting to change the field order - would you be able to tell me where the auto-detect setting is?

Many thanks again

capture

I think setting field order can only be set during capturing. You can check it out at the capture window and try to play on advanced settings. Maybe you have rendered a lower resolution video into a high resolution, that's why it appears jerky when played. ^_^
