Hello I"m hoping for help with a longstanding problem
I've been using both PowerDirector (currently PowerDirector16) and Ulead/now Corel for many years. The longstanding problem is that starting around the time the Corel name took over and also probably thanks to the
growing variety of formats, upon rendering video there is ALWAYS some amount of jerkiness/jumping in the Corel video even if I exactly match region (NTSC to NTSC, PAL to PAL) and frame rate no matter which
format I render in. I've also gone through 2-3 computers during this time and always the same outcome.
It's very rare that this happens in PowerDirector but like every time in Corel. The reason I'd like to use Corel over PowerDirector is that however subjectively I think Corel has the better video quality output (more vivid, less noise without
bothersome adjusting, sharper).
I went ahead and upgraded to 2019 Ultimate hoping this time the cure but no go. At least I can use the parts of the clips that work or keep re-rendering until the bad part occurs elsewhere and then put the whole thing
back together. However it would be great if I could solve the overall problem. Some clips just don't work at all, there is obvious jittering/jumping throughout especially with PAL (as I said, even when I exactly match the frame
rate in the output rendering)
thanks for any help!

Corels take over, that’s a while back, I believe just after Video Studio 10, VS 12 was the first to take on the new name format of using X, was knows as VS12 or X2, now we have progressed to 2019
You do not give the details of frame rates for your installed program, project settings or video files, nor the share options you use.
Scenario
If you install to NTSC, then use Pal video, setting project properties as pal to match, then Share, the default templates will use Ntsc to render, you have to create your own template or use Same as project / first clip options.

Re: Jumpy video rendering compared to PowerDirector
I also have to add that while we get the occasional user with a similar complaint about jerky video, it relates to a particular type of video in a specific version of Video Studio, not a constant problem over many versions of VS and on several computers. We are users just like you, but haven't seen such a wide ranging complaint from anyone else. So like lata, it would be very useful if you could tell us something more about what types of video you use, where it comes from, and its format and other Properties... Also let us know what you have been producing (disc? video for streaming? etc...).

regarding lata's reply for the current problem MKV file which I think is a PAL file based on the frame rate I did set up the project properties as PAL but I did wonder about the underlying aspect of originating as an NTSC user.
so I'll figure out the create your own template/same as project first clip options and try that
I went away from Ulead/Corel for a long time, if I'm remembering correctly because of the time it took for them to finally accept MKV as an input format. Maybe I haven't looked enough but it appears Corel 2019 won't output to MKV?
Maybe the problem is converting MKV to the other formats. For output rendering I am always trying to use a bluray format (I see there is also a 4K format) and match up the frame rate.
I'll also try turning off the internet and all other programs when rendering in case it's a speed/memory problem. I've noticed even just playing back a clip in MPC-HC can be made jumpy
when a lot of programs are running. A few months ago I had to finally get rid of McAfee Anti-Virus in favor of Bitdefender because McAfee at times was using 100 percent of the CPU!
NTSC use does perform a lot better but so far not perfect. In a rendered test clip I've done the lost frame thing always occurs in the same place on playback so that's obviously a problem with the render.
I'm not gonna bother saying where the clips come from cuz based on experience on other boards you're probably not going to like the answer
thanks again for your help
