almost no samples in X10 Ultimate

I am running VS X10 Ultimate on a laptop. I did a full install when I installed it. I just noticed that there are almost no samples in the sample gallery. There are three mpg samples, three jpg samples, and six sound samples. I have noticed over the years that the sample gallery has gotten less and less, but this seems a bit extreme. Did Corel just decide to stop giving samples in their newer versions?

It's going back a bit, but I certainly got the usual amount of samples with X10. When I downloaded it I got the following:

1) VideoStudio_Install -- the installer application;

2) 64bit -- a folder containing:
(a) BonusFeature folder
(b) StandardContent folder
(c) Ultimate folder;

3) Common folder containing
(a) ContentHD
(b) MyDVDContents
(c) SmartSound;

4) StandardContent2 folder.

So if you don't have all of that, you might need to run the Installer again. I'm sorry but I don't recall where the extra samples are stored in these folders, though I would suspect either StandardContent or StandardContent2.

I can't find any of those folders. Does anyone know where they might be?

When you run the web installer aka stub it should allow you to download the program including the contents folders
It will show the download folder location, by default uses a folder on the desktop

You would have already downloaded those files, if not download again.

If the installer indicates the folders are installed you can manually install each to reinstall, with the exception of the main program folder which needs the web installer.

So I own VS Ultimate 2018 and have it installed on my Desktop. I am on the road right now away from home on my laptop. Is there anyway for me to download 2018 Ultimate and installed on my laptop? I can only find download options for 2019.

The web installer aka stub is approx 10 mb
Used to download and install the program
Each program having it's own web installer file, so you need the 2018 version along with your programs serial number

Then you should be able to download again, your internet speed would be a factor in being able to download

Thanks for the link, but it did not work. I downloaded the installer and ran it, and it downloaded VS 2019, not VS 2018

As I foresee that corel will remove VS2018 files from server I hurried to get them.
I can see the files list in the stub but I don't know if one can get them directly as it's totally insecure habit by corel.

I got 2018 downloaded an installed it, but there were no new Samples in the sample gallery. So I went to the installer folder and I saw all the sample content there, but I had to run each installer separately. After running each installer in various folders (Common/ContentHD, Common/MyDVDContents, StandardContent2, etc.) I ended up with these sample totals in the Sample gallery.

Sample Videos: 21
Sample Images: 24
Sample Audio: 15 Music and 25 sound effects

Is this the correct amount of samples for the Ultimate edition, or am I missing something? Seems to me there should be a lot more samples in the Ultimate edition, and some NEW content. All of the samples I am seeing are old and have been part of VS Basic for several years. What is the benefit of Ultimate, if it going to give only the same stuff you get in Basic? I mean why upgrade if all I am going to get is the same old content that has been in the last 6 editions? Surely I am failing to find the NEW upgrade content.

I get the same numbers as you. But you have the wrong idea about the Ultimate version. The VideoStudio part of it is the same as what you get in the Pro version. What makes it Ultimate are the plug-ins like the NewBlue filters, the proDAD stuff (Mercalli etc) and Boris. But I'm afraid it's a case of the same old same old when it comes to the samples in both Pro and Ultimate.

In all the years I have worked with VS, I have never used any of the content files in my project. I only use them in doing test projects. If Corel left them out I would not miss them.

I have not done much with the New Blue and proDAD things. I have looked at them, but my videos are pretty simple and straight forward and I have not found much use for them. What I would like is new editions to include new royalty-free samples that I can use in my videos without worry about copyright infringement.
