The user manual I downloaded and printed (and read), USV 7 SE
I need to understand the file types that are quickly filling up my 120gig drive.
After I capture from a DVcam, I get the AVI files, understood.
When I edit, my edits are saved in a VSP file?
preburn rendering creates 'convert.mpg' files?
When I burn to disc, it is an MPEG-2file?
What are ICX files? What is lost if I delete them?
I have accessed the online resources and no answers found. Is there someone out there who knows????
Please advise, Thank you!

VSP files are Video Studio Project files. They are relatively small because they just contain a list of files that are part of the project, what titles you have added, filters that were applied etc. This is not a video file and is not understood by any other program.
MPG files contain MPEG-1 or MPEG-2 video. MPEG2 is used on DVDs, and is the format you should render to prior to burning such a disk. MPEG-1 is used by VCDs.
I have no idea what ICX files are -- as far as I know they are not created by Videostudio.
