I'm about to work on a project (an interview) that will involve using the multi-camera editor function of VS. This will be a learning exercise for everyone, including me. But I have a few questions . . .
For various reasons, it's likely the camera work will be done in a room area with fairly bland-looking walls, which will be the backdrop for the action. I'd like to use the chroma-key (green or blue screen) functionality to remove the bland walls and insert a more interesting back-drop.
So my questions relating use of the green screen with MCE are:
1. would every clip have to be separately rendered to remove the bland walls and insert the preferred backdrop, before inserting that clip into the MCE panel?
OR
2. can the chroma key removal of the green screen/insertion of the prefererd backdrop be done in concert with the camera angle choices in MCE - in effect, all in one?
Suggestions and advice from someone who has done this would be gratefully received.

Re: Multi-Camera editor and Chroma key (Green Screen)
How many cameras you plan on using?
Each will have different lighting issues hence multi chroma problems.
I have nearly none experience with MCE but on few tests in the past I thing you better edit that VSP as overlays and not as single track. this will give you much more flexibility for tweaking.
But...my 2C are
Not to use chrome key at all but to use graphic masks instead, it will be much more appealing and trouble free.

Probably 3 - 1 for full face of interviewee, 1 for side view of both and 1 moving about.
