Ulead VideoStudio 7?
Can I capture analog VHS home videos and burn to DVD with Video Studio 7?

Yes, provided it is the full version of Videostudio 7 or Videostudio 7 SE DVD. Videostudio 7 SE Basic cannot burn DVDs.
You'll also need an analog capture device. Some video cards have VIVO (Video In / Video Out) capabilities, and some camcorders can capture analog video and convert it to digital video (DV) format. Your third option would be a dedicated analog capture device; if that is the route you are going, make sure that the device is capable of capturing at full DVD resolutions and framerates -- many inexpensive USB devices cannot, certainly not when connected to a USB 1.1 port.

Is this the Instant DVD 2.0 product? I have that and it comes with a version of VideoSuite 7.0 SE DVD which you should be able to capture with. Note that I've always just used the ADS Capture Wizard though to capture to MPG files and then edited and burned with VideoSuite (more recently though I edit commercials with Video Redo and then use VideoSuite to burn to DVD without re-encoding.Fan wrote:Thank you THoff. Evidently I don't have the full version. I can't make all of the necessary capture configurations. I am using an ADS Instant DVD USB capture device. Sounds like a need a lot more hardware too.
