Low memory error
I am using VS 2019. I make photo/video montage videos. When using animated pan and zoom on still images, on the 4th or 5th pan and zoom operation I get a low memory message, not from video studio, but from Windows! (Windows 8.1.) I then have to close the program or it crashes. Sometimes it sends me to the Windows sign-in page and I have to sign in again! Once it caused my computer to re-start. I never (and still don't) had this problem with VS x10. I can use all the other features of VS 2019, using the program for hours, with no problems. The minute I do 4 or 5 animated pan and zooms, whether it is at the beginning of my session or later, it happens. Thanks in advance for any ideas or advice you might have.

Re: Low memory error
Well I thought maybe this latest update (SP3) might have fixed it, but no luck. This time after the 4th pan and zoom the program just quit. As if I had clicked on Exit. But no low memory message. I'm glad I have no hair left. I'd be pulling it out.

I've used "auto pan and zoom". What is "animated pan and zoom"?randy wright wrote:The minute I do 4 or 5 animated pan and zooms
You're running VS2019 on a computer running Win8.1 with 8GB RAM but you don't say if you're editing UHD videos. In any event, my experience is that 16GB is the minimum RAM required to run VS comfortably and utilize most of the filters and effects. I skipped over the problematic Win8 but wouldn't be surprised if it's not the ideal version of Windows to use.
It would appear you don't have enough RAM available to do what you're trying to do in VS2019. However, you can easily check RAM utilization by means of Task Manager.randy wright wrote:But no low memory message.

Re: Low memory error
Thank you for responding. First of all I edit in 720p which is not even full HD, and 8 gigs has been enough even in a large program like Vegas Pro 15. I never use auto pan and zoom. When you go to the regular pan and zoom screen you have 3 choices, static, on-the-fly or animated. In animated you set the beginning and end of the zoom using keyframes. I never had a problem in video studio X10. If I save my project and exit the program after I've done 3 pan and zooms, then re-enter the program, I can then do more pan and zooms, but it is kind of a nuisance.

Actually Auto Pan & Zoom simply sets Edit Mode to Animated which you can accept or customize. Using it can save time compared to the manual method that you appear to be using.randy wright wrote:I never use auto pan and zoom. I use the Animated Edit Mode of Pan & Zoom for videos containing over a hundred images and never had the issue that you report. So if RAM utilization is OK then perhaps you should reinstall VS.

Re: Low memory error
Thank you RobertOZ. It was the virtual memory. It was only set to 4.575 Gb! Thank you both for your responses!
