Import my own batch processes from X8 to 2019

I tried to do this from X8 to PSP 2018 and could never ever get it to work. I ended up sticking to X8.

I have a number of batch processes I have devised in X8 which I need regularly for my work. I now have 2019.

I want to either:

• go to the relevant directory through Windows Explorer in PSPX8, copy all the files and drop them in the equivalent directory for 2019; or

• is there a simple function in 2019 where I can collect them from X8

Step by step guide please on the best way to do it plus anything I need to do in 2019 when the move is complete, on the basis that I'm not that computer-literate.

I don't believe you need to "import" batch processes you just need to open them from the batch process command using the "Load Batch" button. A batch process is just a *.pba file. PSP doesn't load these into any specific location, you can quite literally save and open them from anywhere on your harddrive and use them. PSP will remember the last location you saved a batch process and use that as the folder it loads them in from.

What problems have you had loading them in exactly? Is there an error given?

Assuming you saved all of your PBA files to the same location try this.

1) Open PSP2019.
2) Open the Batch Process Command
3) Select your images and go to the next step
4) Hit "Load Batch"
5) Navigate to the folder where all of your other PBA files are saved
6) Open a PBA file.

Now, the Batch Process command should always look in that folder when you hit the "Load Batch" button.

Thank you. One problem. I have absolutely no idea where the PBA files are.

While I'm on, can I change the colour scheme to white on black instead of the default fairly light grey on slightly lighter grey. I have a slight cataract in one eye and the icons and text are almost indefinable against the background.

Can you not do a search on your machine to find .pba?

Do you still have access to X8? If you do, then simply open the batch dialog and hit the Load Batch button. The Open dialog will open up in the last folder you saved/loaded a batch from. That folder is where you batches are located.

Otherwise, yes you can use the search feature in Windows to do a search for pba files. To narrow things down I would only look in your user folder. I doubt you would save it somewhere else. If you didn't navigate anywhere PSP will usually default to the either your user folder or your documents folder.

My storage hard drives are about half of yours (mine are 2TB each) and quite close to full. But it still only takes a few minutes to do a search of each of them.

That said, my system drive is much smaller, although yours might not be. And you should expect that programs will save files such as these on the system drive, even if you have decided for some reason to install PSP somewhere other than your Program Files folder on the system drive. So doing a search of your system drive should take a few minutes at most.

And while this post is in response to yours, I posted it as a "heads up" for others who might wonder where to look for "mysterious" files that their programs might save in the background for caching and similar purposes.

Selecting batch job didn't find it, and not a .pba file on the entire drive.

However I succeeded.

The X8 files were in This PC > Documents > Corel PaintShop Pro > 18.0 > Scripts Trusted

And now they are in: This PC > Documents > Corel PaintShop Pro > 2019 > Scripts Trusted

And I have changed the background colour of the screen (View > Workspace).
