video not rendering - it just completes with no file created

Post by Longboardluv »

Hello,
I could use your help here. Spent all week editing a video that 30 minutes long. When i go to render/export it (it takes almost an hour) the scroll bar disappers and there is no file. Usually I a window would appear saying "video complete" and you click okay. That isn't happening. Has anyone seen this before? i'm choosing the default MPEG-4 format for youtube. I thought it might be a hardware issue (it being such a large project) so i cut it in half, down to about 12 minutes to see if I could render it in two pieces and I can't. I could really use some help with this one! I created a ticket with Corel as well.

Does it go to 9% and then hang? I had a similar problem with AVCHD 1920x1080, 60P. I renamed the 22 folder, found in Documents/Corel under Users, and it corrected the problem, at least for now. Give it a try and see what happens. It may or may not help.

Do you render to your local HDD or direct to YT?

Do you see any fragment of file in the address directory? Sometimes it happens when the video has some gaps (dropout in original etc). Try to find out what is on the given location ( if you see that the rendering stops at 9%, go back to the time line and identify the area around 9% of the entire video and go frame by frame over this location.). In most of the cases you will find the error in the original clips.

Even if i chop all the video out of it and only leave 30 seconds of the video from the beginning it's not rendering the video. if i create a new project. it will render the video.

here is what might be part of the problem. Early on when i was editing the video, it was stopping on one of the clips. It would basically play most of the clip and then stop. Very strange. Then i end up deleting and re-adding the clip in question to get past it. So as a test i just deleted all of the clips except the first one and it's doing the same thing. If i play the first clip, it just stops and freezes. at about the 3/4 way point of the clip. (SEE SCREEN SHOT) when i try to export this very short clip, it also fails. Please someone tell me they have seen something like this! again this project took me over 10 hours of editing to complete and i don't want to have to go back and redo it.

as stated earlier, this video is 25 minutes. Does anyone know a way for me to just stream it out to a new file? something is jacked up in the project. If i strip out everything except 16 seconds of the first clip. the time line is showing that the project is over one minute.. check it out. any ideas????

I had in the past such issues. There can be a drop-out or incorrect error correction. Unfortunatelly you will not see such problems in VS. Such errors require a deeper stream analyser. Sometimes you can help with a trick to cut out from the clip the damaged frame ( in my case a removal of 2-3 frames fixed the problem. ). In the stream there are many information in the header - like continuity counter etc -it is enough when one of those imformation is demaged and the MPEG will not work. As I remember I had more such troubles from DV tapes, from SD cards were the clips more reliable.

Yes I figured there is one or two video clips in the project that could be causing the problem. That was the point of me deleting everything except the first 15 seconds of the video. I figured that would at least allow me to export it but it still doesn't

Maybe already the first clip is corrupt?

Since the project shows as being over a minute long, there must be something else on the other tracks which you screenshot doesn't show.

Why are you using 3rd party programs (along with all its ads) to show the image? You can easily attach the screenshot directly within this forum

Good for imgur, i just cannot open your pictures.

Anyway you have a serious missmatch somewhere.
Look at the clip. In the preview window it is just 3:02 sec long, in the timeline it is over 4 seconds long.
