Why is this video jittery after rendering in Videostudio?
Hello!
Whatever I do, I can't get VideoStudio to render my Drone footage smoothly, it always comes out jittery.
The original footage is 30fps 4k.
I've tried checking the "keep the same settings as the first video" which didn't improve the result.
Rendering the footage in Windows Movie Maker resulted in a jitter-free video.
The Video Studio render looks like it's repeating or dropping frames.

I rendered your original file four different times with various resolutions - no issues at all. My workstation is a lower end laptop (AMD 12A, Radeon R7 graphics) with 8GB RAM. As to project settings, I started with setting to clip and NO Smart Proxy.

Re: Why is this video jittery after rendering in Videostudio
I also rendered your original video using Same As First Video. First off, I used SmartRender and had Hardware Encoding enabled. The resulting video came out as stable as the original.
I then rendered it Same As without SmartRender and with Hardware Encoding disabled. But again it remained as steady as the original.
For good measure I then rendered it to 1920 x 1080 and with a bitrate of 20000 kbps. But again it came out quite stable.
I played all three in VLC player as well as VS, just to be sure.
I might also note that my computer is a 4K one and I have a 32" 4K monitor. But for me too, there was no problem with the video.

Re: Why is this video jittery after rendering in Videostudio
On my very old desktop, (2010) 1GB Radeon 5570 graphics, I first rendered the original using Same as First Video Clip and whilst the video had some minor pixilation, it played smooth and stable on a standard HD monitor. Then rendered as 1929x1080 30p, this time, no pixilation and was smooth and stable

Thank you very much for investing time on this. Just to be sure, if you compare the Movie Maker and the Video Studio files I posted, do you see the difference on your computers?
I tried all the options you mentioned here but it always looks like the Video Studio output has some frames doubled or missing.

Re: Why is this video jittery after rendering in Videostudio
Did anybody notice that the original video is lasting about 48 seconds and the rendered video only about 30 seconds. Obviously some frames where dropped during the rendering process which may explain the jittering.
How this could happen is another question and should be investigated. I have tried different renderings but could not reproduce this issue. It seems like somewhere "speed/time-lapse" or "variable speed" was used before rendering.
Personaly I could not manage to keep the same settings as first video as the original video is using a particular high bitrate beyond the limits of Corel Video Studio. At first sight, "keeping the same settings" seems to work but if you look at the properties of the profile window, before rendering, you may see that these do not correspond to the properties of the original file at least as far as the bitrate is concerned.

Re: Why is this video jittery after rendering in Videostudio
Just a comment here, I had no problem replicating the data rate used in the original video. When I used Same As, I got exactly the same (high) data rate...Jan wrote:Personaly I could not manage to keep the same settings as first video as the original video is using a particular high bitrate beyond the limits of Corel Video Studio.

Re: Why is this video jittery after rendering in Videostudio
Hi, I found the solution. I switched the "TV Mode" (in Video Studios' settings) to NTSC (from PAL) and then everything was fine!
Thanks for your suggestions.

Re: Why is this video jittery after rendering in Videostudio
That was because I trimmed the video. The solution for my problem was switching to NTSC in Video Studio.Jan wrote:Did anybody notice that the original video is lasting about 48 seconds and the rendered video only about 30 seconds. OK, I didn'y notice that because the video was almost stationery at the end. Glad you found the solution.floyd_steinberg wrote:That was because I trimmed the video. Re: Why is this video jittery after rendering in Videostudio
I normally work with PAL settings. However, since your original video was NTSC I used NTSC settings in my renders. Hence, no problems...

Re: Why is this video jittery after rendering in Videostudio
Hello, I recently bought a new drone and found myself facing the same problems again, but this time I couldn't fix it by myself. Here's the official solution by Corel which worked for me.
press "Windows" and 'R' on the Keyboard and enter the following:
%appdata%
open the "Roaming" folder
go to "Ulead Systems"
go to "Corel VideoStudio Pro".
rename "22.0" to "22.0_old"
open "Corel VideoStudio Pro (x64)".
rename "22.0" to "22.0_old"
This will reset Video Studio, but afterwards the jittering was gone.
