VS 2018 - Just want an MP4 with some CHAPTER markers

Love this product BUT...

I am trying to create an MP4 film that has CHAPTERS so that when played back using common PLAYERS (such as VLC and others) the viewer can HOP forwards and backwards across the MP4 film.

This is particularly important as the FILM is almost 60mins duration - so the ability to Chapter Mark is critical.

YES I have been able to ADD Chapter Markers in the EDIT timeline OK - no probs.

BUT when I render the film for output as an MP4 film, there are NO Chapter Marks IN the resulting MP4 - so NO ability to HOP back and forth to the Chapter Markers when viewing the MP4.

YES I have used Chapter Markers successfully when the output medium is DVD - so I know that works.

BUT the output medium I need is an MP4 clip - HOW do I get the Chapter Marks to be available in an MP4 render ?

Chapters are dedicated to the DVD menu structure and not available when rendering to mp4

Yes we can add chapter markers to the timeline but ignored when rendering to mp4

Thanks Trevor - I use chapters all the time with DVD burning, but most of my production these days is to USB as the delivery medium. The MP4 standards do appear to support Chapters being defined together with Chapter descriptions/names - so I was hoping that VS would also support it.

There are tools that permit adding Chapters to and existing MP4 and creating a NEW MP4 with the Chapter points contained - and PLAYERS such as VLC support SEEING the Chapters on the film progress line enabling the user to HOP backwards and forwards guided by the Chapter names.

Shame that VS does not permit doing this so I guess it's another one for the Wishlist ?
