Any way to force VS2019 not to auto-rotate phone videos?

Post by bonchien »

Sorry if this has been asked and I didn't see it, but I'm compiling some videos that include normal 16:9 camera videos, and videos taken with phones that are narrow (9:16?). When I import the phone videos into VS2019, they look correctly aligned in my library. When I drag them to the timeline, VS2019 rotates all the 9:16 phone videos 90 degrees. I have to manually go through all the videos and rotate the phone videos back so they are in the correct up is up position. Is there any way to turn off the auto rotation of these vertical videos in VS2019?

I had a similar issues, but not from all phones. It seems that it depends on the phone itself. I did not find a general solution for that. On top of that the videos from some new phones have a "hidden" frame (16:9), ie if I turn them by 90 degrees, the picture size will be smaller and fill only the middle of the screen.
