VideoStudio Ultimate 2019 KEEPS AUTO SHUT DOWN

Hey everyone,

I am currently using VS Ultimate 2019 and suddenly the program just decides to stop working and automatically close.... This usually happens during playback, but now it is whilst actually editing. I am unable to render the timeline which is 9mins as that also causes the program to crash/shutdown automatically.

I have uninstalled/ reinstalled and the issues still persist. I do not know what has happened to cause or this or why it continues to happen. One moment everything worked alright and now I pretty much cannot work.


Please can someone save me as this is really stressing me out now

Does this happen with one particular project or does this happen with all projects?

I have just opened a separate project and it seems to play fine.... any suggestions what is causing this issue?

You did not answer completely gewb's question!

If it happens with only one project then it would seem that there is something wrong in that project. We would have to know some information about that project.

MPEG Transport-Stream Files
24 bits, 1920 x 1080, 29.97 fps
Upper Field First
(HDMV-NTSC), 16:9
H.264 Video
Video data rate: Variable (Max. 18000 kbps)
Audio data rate: 384 kbps
Dolby Digital Audio, 48 KHz, 2/0(L,R)

Im sorry I don't know what else to add? Any help would be appreciated

Where did the video in the project come from? Does it all have similar properties to the Project Properties? Have you added FX? If so, which ones? Are you trying to produce a video with the same properties as the Project Properties? Does the shutdown occur at much the same point each time?

I am having exactly the same problem with my current project. Each time this has happened I have located the clip on the computer and viewed it using another program. No problems. My settings are:
General U Lead MPEG Now Encoder; 25 frames per second; Standard 1920 x 1080
Compression: Media Type Pal HDMV 70; Video Formet H264 Video; Video Data Rate 16000

I have been having similar and more troubles with VS 2019 Ultimate.My only solution was to return to VS 2018.If you look at the following post in the last reply by Lata that will tell you how to move your project to 2018.

This seems to me to be a non-solution. I wonder how many people have this problem? Perhaps it is a software problem that we should look to Corel to resolve. I have registered it as a problem with them a couple of days ago and am waiting for a response/\.

Thanks - not very encouraging news, since I too deleted Videostudio 18 before installing 19. I have had some success with Corel support in the past. I have had the standard response this time - send the winaudit and msinfo files. I have done this and await results.

If you have the serial no. you can reinstall VS 2018 and then get your 2019 project back into VS2018.

I read the Web page every day and the main query seems to be about crashes or shut downs or whatever you would describe it as. In VS 10, 18 and 19 I have had my fair share of interrupted editing and have lost count of the many times that I have sat here in front of a blank screen. Then thinking about it I resolved to try a few things. At first I wasn't successful but further along the testing route, I started to find that I was getting a lot less shutdowns. I had started to wait for VS to complete the task that I had asked it to do, before I asked it to do something else. This struck me as a possible answer to crashes. Does VS not like to do two things at once or is it that VS cannot store more than one instruction at a time. Of course this is just my opinion. It works for me but sometimes I still jump the gun and the result is a blank screen.

I have now received a reply from the Corel Help Desk, after sending them the system files that they asked for. Their reply is as follows:

All I can say is that there is someone of that name who works (or did work) for Corel Support. He usually provides a photo of himself and refers to a ticket or request number .
Below is an example of what I mean
