Error Msg: This format is only supported in WIndows......

Post by tryingcake »

I get this error message on occasion. It does not matter what format I am trying to save to. I am using Windows 10. So that should not be an issue. But apparently, there is.

Any tips?

Without a lot more information, it is almost impossible to give any "tips".
What are you trying to do and how are you doing it?

I have created my project. Now I want to turn it into an MP4 file. I go to share, click MP4 (or any other format out of desperation), give it a title and click start. It will run for about a minute and then this pops up. It's not every time. But it's getting to be more and more often. Being intermittent is weird.

I've been using different versions of this program for years. I think the first time I bought it was 1999. I've only had this issue in the last few months. With VideoStudio X9.

No, it doesn't close the program, but it stops rendering. I have tried every format to no avail. And it's an intermittent issue.

Now that you posted this message, I, too, have had it pop up as I tried to generate my project. I just tried other resolutions until it worked. Didn't really pay it much attention...I probably should.'

If I get it again I'll take notes and file a bug report.

Your profile says that you are running "Corel programs: Corel VideoStudio X9". Any are you running a trial version of a newer version of VS?

The issue that you're experiencing has been reported by people running trial versions of VS - see viewtopic.php?f=1&t=62925 and viewtopic.php?f=1&t=61911

Hmmm... I paid for it and entered the serial number or whatever I had to do back then. So, after reading your post, I went and looked and all of my info is gone. When I go to "restore my purchases" it does not recognize my email address. So, I will have to dig back through my emails to find the purchase and key and contact support, I guess.

Thank you, hopefully, this fixes it.

I found the purchase email. I deleted the program rebooted and reinstalled so that I could reenter the key. As I was opening it for the first time, had a warning message that I may need to install K-Lite Codec. I tried to render and got the same error message. So I downloaded and installed K-Lite Codec. Still getting the same error message about needing Windows 10.

This should not be this hard. I'm afraid of upgrading. It's not expensive, but it is expensive if I upgrade only to continue to have this issue.

I asked myself the same question. But it gave a website link and I followed it. It made no difference though. I love this program. I've been using Corel VS for 20 years now! This is very frustrating.
