Last year or maybe 2 years ago there was an issue of not being able to keep a prior version of VS if latest version was purchased, the whole version not the upgrade. Since VS X3 I had kept my entire versions versus upgrades until this became an issue. I had to delete old versions, do the cleanup, then download the latest one again as a complete install to get it to open. This was for VS 2018. A number of years ago it was suggested to buy a new complete stand alone version verses an upgrade.
Is this still an issue or can I buy whole new version of 2019 and also keep 2018? Upgrades work ok now?
Thanks for any help.

Re: New VS version works if former version still on computer
I have always kept previous versions on my computer - it has never been a problem to have previous versions , many users , especially those trying to help on here keep previous versions so that we can check back for people using them
You appear to be confused about the full V. upgrade issue , when you purchase an upgrade version it is identical in all respects to the full version , it is the full version, just sold at a slightly reduced price as a loyalty bonus to existing customers
An upgrade version does not amend / change or in any way modify any previous versions you may have it simply installs a brand new version of the programme alongside all your existing ones
I had better just add that there does appear to be a bit of a problem with VS2019 in that some people are reporting that some components of VS2018 seem to have been disabled when installing 2019 , I think that is just a bug which Corel may correct soon but most of 2018 still works
so if you don't mind spending money it does not matter whether you buy a full or upgrade version , they are identical except for a cheaper price for the upgrade
