Is there a dropped frames counter ?
When using Capture in DVDWS 2, how can you check if there have been any dropped frames as there doesn't seem to be a dropped frames counter ? Or am I missing something ?

Not necessarily. If frames were dropped because of inadequate HDD resources, the software would not "notice" the problem.
If this is a concern, I suggest you use MSP for capturing. This is much more versatile, anyway. In addition, it allows you to edit before encoding and, with the forthcoming MSP8, offers automatic publicity removal.
