simultaneous subtitles

I need to put a subtilte on the screen at the same time as the main subtitles re running at the bottom.

I have a subtitle track corresponding to the movie dialogue. But there are quotes that appear on the screen at the same time and I need to place subtitles for them as well. And I want to place them in a different location than the dialogue subtitles.

Is this possible? If not I am not sure what I can do in order to translate this movie.

Hello,

I don't believe the DVD spec allows that. you will have to do it some other way than using subtitles.

I may be wrong, but I believe that is true.
