1 TimeLapse, 3 Problems (dust, lag, rotation)

Post by tegumedia »

Hello,

I created the following moving time lapse video and I would like to post process it.
https://1drv.ms/v/s!AurQqvuWbSARlftzCN5zLrttFjyT0w

1. There is a dirty spot on the lens at the left side in the middle. You can see in the beginning of the video where the background sky is light.
Is there any way to remove/blur/hide this spot somehow in Video Studio?
I tried the "Removing Blemish" feature in AfterShot on the original images but the result was hmm.. not satisfying. It is working well on 1 image, but not on a moving one like this.

2. I am trying to create some rotating time lapse videos and usually the result is lagging. Looks like the timing is not synchronized or something like this and the result is not smooth at all.

3. The last issue is also relating with the rotating videos, because very challenging to level the camera properly. Is there any "easy way" to adjust the level of the whole video continuously?
I tried the pan&zoom feature's rotate property, it only accepts values between 0 and 360. When I set the beginning to 0 and the end at 358 than it rotates the video completely (358deg!). Also the same if I set the beginning to 360.
My actual solution is to use the base Rotate filter. It is working well, but I can't adjust the zoom level (to hide the black lines) in the same time, so I need to first add the Rotate filter, export it, and readd the video again to apply the zoom filter.. It's quite slow.

Do you have any suggestions?

OK, thanks.

For your issue #3, I used Pan and Zoom to set the angle across a clip then added Customize Motion to resize to remove the black letterboxes. Very easy to do.

For issue #1, I used Customize Motion to set the right edge of the frame then increase the size thus "pushing" the dust spot off the left side. Once the spot moved out of the bright sky area and into the darker portions where it's not so noticable, in Customized Motion zoom back out to full frame.

From your description I'm not sure what you are trying to do with issue #2.

OK, have #1 and #3 worked into one Customize Motion edit and then added Color Correction.

Download MP4 from my Box account:

tegumedia-test.mp4

Customize Motion and Color Correction Settings screen shots of settings files are also in the Box directory (7 files):

Sorry about edits done in VS2018 - the Color Correction screen will be a bit different in VS2019.

Yes, exactly this is that I was looking for. The custom motion does the job!
I appreciate, thank you.
